final thoughts.

Dear all,

as I wrote at the start of last year, is time for me to leave IFMSA. 

Project Smile X has been a very strange project. It started as a bomb, exploding with thousands of successes, laughs, good things. If I have to judge the final outcome of the project after these years, I can say we really achieved something I didn't thought possible. We sensibilized thousands of medical students about the doctor-patients relationship, we tried our best to give dignity to this hidden side of Medicine. We spread the project and its ideas in different countries, and I think that we have done as much as we could to form better future doctors.

But I have to be honest, we could do better. I could do better, we could do better. I started with enthusiasm this adventure, but when I started to have less time to dedicate, and less energy, I sometimes expected more feedback, more help from some people that in the years have been involved in this project. Sometimes is just bad luck, but happened.

During the first part of last year we achieved a good new start point, we reached to have feedback from all the NCs all around the world. We can't pretend that everybody answers soon, but in the first part we had a decent feedback from everybody. It was 2 years that we hadn't. A new start, a good start.

But, in the second part of the year we wasted a bit this occasion. I still miss the recieving of some state of Art, how is possible? even your, Guille...

In the next days the Project Support Division Director will send to the IFMSA mailing lists a call for a International Coordinator. Please, don't miss the opportunity. You don't need anything but to dare, to put some energy. To be ready to fail, but to try to reach success. You will not recieve anything for that, no money, anything. But don't think you are not enough for this, because, really, so few is needed. 

I'll answer every question. I will not guide you as a baby child, because this work needs to be independent and to try, but I will be here if anything is needed.

The way to follow in the improving is very simple: the start point are the State of Arts and the problems they have focused, the final point is to spread the project, and try to homogenize the quality, so different from city to city, And we can do that betting on the formation, not only practical, but theoretical and scientific.

Any one dares?

In my country, we say that a Clown always say "Yes". I hope someone here will be a good Clown :D

Please, carry on this dream that me and Diego had in 2005-2006,
