You are wise to get rid of Avast. It should have an uninstaller on their web site. Avast is very difficult to install all of its various bits and pieces. I would use their uninstaller. It should do the complete job. If one is not available, the app I have successfully used for years to do removals is AppCleaner. It's free. Open it and drag the Avast icon into the presented window. It will then offer associated files for you to accept by selecting them. Clock the remove button and it's done.

This is my preferred method as it only requires 1 reboot to finalize! This process requires admin privileges. After removing Avast 60 day free upgrade trial and Avast 30 day Driver update trial programs after only 1 day as it caused major delays in reboot startup. I ran all of the tests over 4 hours long, including the Extensive HP Diagnostic tests, and all systems Passed with no issues. However, I now have to run the Bios update (WIN + B) every time I start up my laptop. And it takes at least 30 - 45 minutes to boot up to where I can access my programs with no problem. Once it is up and running I have not issues except some latency on every request. I did not have that issue before the Avast programs were installed. Very disappointed in the performance impact Avast created. Now I need to reboot using the Bios update steps each time. Any way to avoid having to do this besides re-imaging the laptop? Thank you for any advice you can provide. I know there is a simple solution out there for me to perform.

I did use the Avast removal tool option and updated from the HP website, but the issue still continues. I need to run the BIOS update steps, Windows + B, key at startup. Not a deal breaker, but takes a little more time to boot up each time.

@Alambl To confirm, you don't update the BIOS each time you perform a BIOS recovery using the Windows+B key to restart, do you? If you are, please don't update it, as it doesn't seem to be working, and BIOS updates are mostly installed only to resolve certain issues, if you don't have those symptoms, you don't have to update the BIOS.
