When I have the Webcam protection enabled and start the Windows Camera app, it freezes frame and the app queries for permission settings. I exhausted all the options there (including Troubleshooter) to no avail. If I turn webcam protection off, the Camera app resumes function. I tried to add a new rule, but the ESET app doesn't allow that manually, so I tried to coax it into querying for permission by deleting the rules. This didn't work, so I'm now at a loss.

Webcam protection informs you about processes and applications that access your computer's web camera. When an application tries to access your camera, you get a notification to allow or block the access. The color of the alert window depends on the application's reputation.

-EDIT- This knowledge base article provides more details: -create-and-edit-webcam-rules-in-eset-windows-home-products . Appears a rule can only be added as result of webcam alert Allow response. Thereafter, the added rule can be modified via selecting it and modifying it as needed.

I've had around 6/7 users contact me regarding their camera freezing when doing a video call on Teams. During the ringing stage the camera works fine but as soon as the person they are ringing joins, the user's camera then freezes. You can hear them fine but the camera is just frozen. The person's camera they have called works fine though and doesn't freeze.

I have tried uninstalling the in built camera & driver on the laptop & then re-installing, this has worked on a few occasions but then the users report it has frozen again. I have also tried uninstalling Teams & re-installing but this hasn't resolved the issue either. I've checked for any driver updates relating to the camera but it's all up to date.

All of my users who are using their webcam with Teams have MS accounts. They are all set as admin on their respective computers. All of the users but one have no problems with their webcam and Teams.

Ik discovered the same problem myself and one off my customers called today with the same issue. One off them is using a MacBook and one off them is using Microsoft Surface 3. Since the message has been read more than 1300 times, I think many more people are experiencing the same problem.

I've tried this but still no help. My laptop camera is working perfectly during all the Teams meeting. I also have a SOLO Spark USB document camera that I use to show students drawings as I talk them through it. It worked perfectly last Wednesday but yesterday and today the USB document camera freezes are a couple of seconds. A warning pops up to say the camera has stopped working, try plugging it in and out.

If Teams video is freezing right after connecting a call, then I've had great success with rolling back the driver for the Integrated Camera in Device Manager. This has worked even when it was an external webcam attached to the computer.

For @Martin390 where Teams video works but the USB document camera doesn't, I'd recommend looking for the external camera's device driver in Device Manager under Cameras or Imaging devices and roll back the driver. There's a good chance that some update threw a tilt in it's operation.

On a side-note, for people with other Teams video problems of lagging and freezing but not necessarily right from the moment they connect a call, there's one more area to check. Go to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\Cache and delete everything there. Teams cache seems to fill up quickly and can significantly slow down the app, most notably impacting video quality.

I use external USB webcams that since I installed Teams, they freeze every few seconds everywhere. Not only on Teams. This is the second time it happens, different computer and different webcams just after I install Teams and log in.

Camera freezes instantly after the call ist started. I can fix this problem by starting the Apple "PhotoBooth" app, but this isn't a good workaround.

We definetely need the Microsoft Support to help us with this.

I have the same problem and noticed it always freezes when I receive a notification that I got another message sent. I am on Mac and when I get a new message, I get a bubble notification for a few seconds. The interesting part is that my video freezes only when the notification disappear.

If you're not able to use your microphone or camera after installing the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, then it's not a driver problem with the peripherals or a bug with version 1803. It's a privacy settings issue, which you can quickly fix with this...

So you narrowed down the issue to Bluejeans or Chrome. Have you tried with Firefox? Using Bluejeans in Firefox? I only say this because we had an issue where a website to manage devices worked in all browsers, then stopped working in 1 browser after an update then 6 months later worked again after another update. It seems like you already narrowed down driver issues or hardware issues.

Following the website's windows tutorial everything seems to be working until I go to octolapse itself. The webcam is setup that when I run the tests in octolapse's Webcam setting tab everything shows up. The cameras feed from yawcam also shows up in the octroprint controls tap. Yet under the octolapse tap nothing seems to be available.

Its definitely not functioning correctly ohh how I wish it was just a simple overthinking it problem.
So I started a fresh set of tests on another pc.
First test was to do a clean install of everything octoprint itself, Cura and yawcam and see if they function.
Octoprint and cura worked as intended even the native timelapse feature of Octoprint functioned perfectly taking pictures saving them and turning them into a video.

It seemed to disable the functioning part of Octoprint as the native timelapse feature no longer worked.
Opening up octoprint in IE and Firefox had some strange results too, the octolapse plugin tab is non existent as if the feature was not installed yet when opened in chrome it shows up just fine.
To me and my limited knowledge it seems that the octolapse plugin is not installing correctly.
So I retested it.
Starting again on another computer a fresh install of all the base software and features yielded the same results. Somethings not quite right with the Octolapse installation.
I think Im going to try doing an install of octolapse from each browser to see if maybe the browser is causing an installation failure.

One additional thing to note, is I must start the octoprint server first and connect it to the printer before opening cura, if this is done in any other order I get "tornado.access - Warning - 409 GEt /api/printer (::1) 2.00ms" "octoprint.server.util.flask - Debug - App sessions after cleanup ..... -This spams the consol in cmd prompt endlessly.

Sorry about the earlier misdiagnosis, I can see that there are other issues at play here. Perhaps this has something to do with Yawcam. I do test with yawcam pretty frequently, but not as much as mjpgstreamer. Can you take a pic of your webcam settings in the octolapse camera profile (specifically the base and snapshot address)? That may shed some light on the problem.

Also, I can see that you are using Octolapse 0.3.1. There have been several enhancements specifically regarding webcam testing and verification, so it's possible (though a bit unlikely) that your problem has been fixed within the latest rc/devel branch. If I can't see anything obviously wrong with your settings maybe you'd be willing to try a pre-release?

I then went to the octoprint webcam settings tab and this popped up. "Camera Test Failed - An exception of type: was raised during the test! Error:" (im assuming from the test I had run in the octolapse camera setting tab as I hadn't clicked anything in the octolprint webcam tab )

So the solution you provided about the base address change didn't seem to solve the problem. Do you have a link to the pre release candidate for octolapse that you suggested that may solve the issues? Also are there any special instructions for it that I may need to know before doing a regular plugin install?

I want to place my camera at front window sill inside behind double window panes. I am positioning FOV so I can detect motion of vandels coming toward house (front) door) as they pass by window. They have thrown items at door and windows. My question: Is this okay to capture night IR video with motion sensitivity? The side walk in front of our house is about 5-6 feet away. I have real option at this time mount camera outside while being undetected or secure from theft.

Thanks for answer. I do not have a place where I can mount outside with out somebody trying to put their hands on it or stealing it. Any ideas on how to hide the unit or disguise without blocking the camera wireless?

So much depends on your specific scenario. Height, nearness of sidewalks, amount of traffic, both vehicular and pedestrian, etc., etc. Possibly mounting between window and screen, out 2nd story window, hiding in plants or planter, etc. could help. There's no way we can tell you how to do it over the Internet - it's up to you to figure a strategy.

Not all of us have the option of installing the camera outside, My home is a ranch home...the soffit/overhang is only 8' off the ground...anyone with a small ladder could reach up and steal the camera....whether mounted with the magnetic or the screw- in mounts!

4) Alro can record through glass, it just can't sense motion due to the working of the PIR sensor... Some cameras work through glass because they use a sense type that reads the camera's pixel change and not IR

Thanks for your comments...the 8 ft. soffit/overhang is exactly why I was looking for a survelliance system that could record from the INSIDE of the house through the glass...NOT a system that has to be placed OUTSIDE to monitor a driveway and front yard.
