Check it out: http://umbrellaoffice.jimdo.com/

Looks like a beautiful space.

Also, note pricing: $450/month for 24 hour access, with separate
pricing for private desks coming soon.

What do you guys think? I sent a message to the founders about meeting
up to talk.

Wow, that really does look beautiful. This South Brooklynite is excited to see where this leads!

Just one guy's opinion, but I think it might be better to find something
in Manhattan. I've got nothing against Brooklyn personally, but
Manhattan is just really perfectly centrally located so that pretty much
anyone anywhere in the tri-state area (including the outer boros, LI,
Jersey, Westchester, etc.) can get to it reasonably easily and quickly.
If the space isn't in Manhattan, it'll wind up being less convenient
to some contingent or other.

Oh certainly... this doesn't affect our Manhattan plans.

But it's interesting to see what else is happening out there.

It is a pretty space, but NOT in a good location for me.

Humble agree with all - but love the look.

I think the push is that if you've happened to have been pushed out of Manhattan due to skyrocketing rents and want a shared workspace, you don't HAVE to travel all the way in to Manhattan.
As for location, true, it's everything, but if you've got a meeting that you just have to have in Manhattan, there are several places you can book a meeting room for a few hours and still have your workspace in Brooklyn.

Coming from someone that lived in SoHo, used a shared workspace/office near me, I don't see the difference.
You need a place to get out of the house, be around like minds and use a space that's conducive to working.

Who wants to take a 45 minute train trip for that?

I'm sure they know their market and are going do fine.

But I think it's clear that this Google Group is on the same page about where they want to see a location :-)
