Thanks for the link David.

I figure it'd be useful for the NY Times to write about coworking in
New York? How might we as a group get press in a local city for any
coworking group in that city, when an article is written in that city?

Keeping it simple, whenever an NYC paper writes about coworking, how
might we get Jelly and cooBric mentioned?

The article was written by one of NYT's guys in San Fran, which is currently the coworking capitol of the world.

It would have been nice to get a mention, but I'm more happy to see that coworking in general has begun to really hit the mainstream. That means growth for all of the groups and for for the coworking movement in general, and that's what's important.

NYT starts with an article introducing its readers to coworking, and focusing on SFO. Next time, maybe they'll focus on their home town.

All in good time, friends!

In the meantime, what ideas does everyone have on how to get more people coworking at Gramstand? After about 6 months there, none of the things we've done seems to have gotten much traction on finding new coworkers. I feel like we need to get more active people actually using the space before we can talk about getting a mention in the NY Times.

I've got a few more ideas up my sleeve, but what do you guys have in mind?

I feel we need a couple of things.

1st and most important -  we need someone(s) to hold the space every day. I feel like this is what helped with our previous space, that we had someone there every day (or close to it) and the last month we had a nice group showing up almost every day.

if we can get that working, then we can go from there

Good call. I know we already all sort of have patterns we've developed as to when we show up, but formalizing that a bit can be helpful.

What else!

I've worked there a couple of times (the first time, before I knew it was the coobric coworking space!) and it still seemed a bit "solo"... does everyone generally work downstairs, maybe? Perhaps you've already had a scheduled "meet and greet" and I've missed it, but that could help to get us all acquainted?

cheers

Yeah, I was thinking we needed to do something like that. Also hoping to get some of these CoworkingNY stickers going so we could more easily identify ourselves in the cafe.
