to Cooperative Maine

After a sold-out and highly impactful pilot session in November 2024, we're bringing back our intensive training program for cooperative managers and leaders this June. The Leadership Foundations Intensive is designed to strengthen participatory leadership practices in Maine’s growing cooperative economy.

This two-day, in-person training is designed for supervisors, managers, department heads, board members, and others in leadership roles across all cooperative sectors. Developed to be hands-on, reflective, and practical, the program equips participants with tools to build team alignment, make collaborative decisions, and foster healthier, more effective workplaces. Four virtual follow-up sessions reinforce the material and support continued growth after the in-person intensive.

Key learning areas include:

  • Clarifying team vision and goals

  • Group planning and collaborative decision-making

  • Giving and receiving feedback

  • Active listening and observation

  • Leadership style and its impact

  • Delegation and accountability

  • Self-reflection and personal leadership planning

Last year’s pilot was a turning point for many participants, giving them the tools to lead more intentionally and inclusively. We’re excited to offer this opportunity again, especially as Maine’s co-op sector continues to grow and diversify.
