I wanted to propose to move the CoolProp discussions from this google group to the github discussions.

I think the github discussions has a better format to discuss programming questions, it is easier to read, and we have options such as choosing the right answer, upvote etc. which are similar to stackoverflow.

Additionally, we would have all content (issues + discussions) in only one place, making it easier to search things.

It would also make it easier to reference things, for example, issues that could be open based on discussions.

Interesting suggestion!
I personally have not used github discussions, do you have an example of a repo/project that uses gh discussions successfully?

I do like the github interface in general, and like the things mentioned below.   Would be more than fine with me to move discussion there.

I am not very familiar with GitHub Discussions, but I have the strong impression that it would be a good thing to move the mailing list discussion there. It will be practical to have everything in one place and have a more easily searchable archive.

One project that I know has moved discussions from a mailing list to GitHub Discussions:
    https://github.com/usnistgov/fipy/discussions

In order to receive (e-mail) notifications whenever something happens in the "Discussion" section of the project on GitHub, it is necessary to "Watch" the project and configure the sending of notifications. Just "Star"ring a project is not enough. (Sorry, if this is already obvious to you... I just found out)

I would also like to agree that moving the group to GutHub discussions is a good idea.

I can access as well, and in the repository there is now a 'discussions' link next to the pull requests link.
