Hong Kong Backpackers' Association(HKBA)
香港自助旅行者協會於2002年3月1日正式注冊成立，是一個比較新的團體，有無限的發展空間。協會的幹事主要是一班熱愛旅行人士，我們熱愛自助旅行，
從自助旅行我們體驗到很多樂趣，我們相信：
·旅行能增長見聞，豐富人生
·旅行能增加各種族、地域間的了解溝通，減少衝突
·自助旅行能培養解決問題和應付逆境的能力
·自助旅行能磨鍊出堅強的意志和快樂的人生觀
基於以上信念，我們成立了香港自助旅行者協會，將自己的興趣和別人分享，我們更希望香港自助旅行者協會能夠完成以下的三個使命﹕
·凝聚香港自助旅行者力量，營造香港自助旅行者社群
·在香港推廣自助旅行，宣傳箇中樂趣
·給世界各地的自助旅行愛好者提供技術支援
因為我們剛成立，所以很多工作都未準備充足，而且我們都比較年輕，人生閱歷和旅行經驗都不太豐富，所以在很多方面都有待改善，我們希望聽到不同的聲音，
對我們的工作甚至發展路向給予寶貴的意見，這樣我們才能夠翅膀豐滿，展翅高飛。
由於我們是一個非牟利團體，所有的幹事都是義務性質，而且人手不多，所以初期工作可能比較混亂，敬請見諒。同時也希望同樣熱愛自助旅行的你能給我們支持
和鼓勵，如果你有興趣可選擇加入我們的幹事會，或者純粹對我們所舉辦的活動提供協助，請聯絡我們的負責人。謝謝！

我們的會章
THE CONSTITUTION OF HONG KONG BACKPACKERS'ASSOCIATION
Section 1: Definitions
In this constitution,
"Association" shall mean Hong Kong Backpackers' Association
"Member" shall mean a member of Hong Kong Backpackers' Association
"Executive Committee" shall mean the Executive Committee of Hong Kong
Backpackers' Association
"Constitution" shall mean the Constitution of Hong Kong Backpackers'
Association
Section 2: General
Article 1 - NAME
The name of the Association shall be "Hong Kong Backpackers'
Association"
Article 2 - AIMS
The aims of the Association shall be:
a) Unite the power of backpackers in Hong Kong and create a meeting
place for them
b) Promote independent traveling in Hong Kong
c) Provide technical support for backpackers in Hong Kong
Section 3: Membership
Article 1-- MEMBERSHIP
Any person who registers with the Association would be considered
members of the Association
Article 2 - PRIVILEGES
a) A Member shall be entitled to
i) Enjoy the facilities of the Association
ii) Take part in all Association activities
iii) Propose, object and vote during meetings of the Association
Section 4: Executive Committee
Article 1 - FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
a) The functions of the Executive Committee shall be
i) To formulate and implement the policies of the Association in
accordance with the objectives in Article 2 SECTION 2
ii) To represent the Members in such matters that affect the members'
interest
Article 2 - COMPOSITION
The Executive Committee shall consist of
a) A Chairman
b) A Vice Chairman
c) A General Secretary
d) A Financial Treasurer
e) A Publication and Publicity Secretary
f) A Public Relation Secretary
g) 2 IT Officer
h) 2 Social Secretary
Article 3 - DUTIES OF INDIVIDUAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
a) The Chairman shall be the chief executive of the Association and
offcio chairman of the Annual General Meeting
b) The Internal Vice Chairman shall assist the Chairman in all her/his
duties relative to the Association.
c) The General Secretary shall conduct all general correspondence,
take the minutes of the meetings.
d) The Financial Secretary shall be responsible for all finances of
the Association.
e) The publication and Publicity Secretary shall be responsible for
all matters relating to the publication and the general publicity work
of the Association.
f) The Public Relation Secretary shall be responsible for all matters
relating to the public relationship.
g) The IT Officers shall be responsible for updating the website of
the Association.
h) The Social Secretary shall be responsible all social activities of
the Association.
Every Executive Committee members shall assume additional duties which
accord with the objectives of the Association if Executive Committee
decides it to be necessary
Section 5: General Meetings
Article 1 AUTORITY AND RIGHT
a) The vote at a general meeting shall have the highest authority in
all matters of the Association
b) All members except the Chairman of the General Meeting have the
right to vote for the any matter raised in the meeting.
Article 2 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
a) The Annual General Meeting shall be held between December and
January of that coming year.
b) The Annual General Meeting shall be held with at least 50%
attendance of the members
Article 3 EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING
a) The Extraordinary Meeting shall be held with the request of the
Executive committee.
b) The Annual General Meeting shall be held with at least 50%
attendance of the members
Section 6: Election of Executive Committee
Article 1 ELECTION
a) The committee will be selected during the Annual General Meeting of
the Association
b) Any member can be nominated to be the committee member by one
member and seconded by another member.
c) Each post will be voted by simple majority.
Section 7: Finance
Article 1
a) The Association is non-profit making organization, all expenditure
sustained by free donations.
b) The Financial year shall be conducted between two successive Annual
General Meeting
c) The Financial Secretary should have a formal Financial Report in
the General Meeting
d) A saving account shall be opened under the name of the Association
e) All cheques shall be signed by the Financial Secretary and either
the Chairperson or Vice Chairperson of the Association
Section 8: Constitution
Article 1 - AMENDMENT
a) This Constitution can only be amended with the consent of no less
than two-thirds of all the members of the Association
Article - INTERPRETATION
Any matter not specifically covered by this Constitution shall be
decided by the Executive Committee
