what did you think of Shawn and Brendan's videos. Shawns sucked, don't even remember him buying anything.

he doesn't seem like a real collector, since he gets free movies he probably has them all and is only really interested in horror.

at least Brendan buys stuff.

I'm from Australia but Shawn is missing out on great bargains, why wouldn't you spend less then $10 on Blurays or even 4K?!

I can't even watch Shawn's videos anymore. They're so boring. I don't mind that he just does DVD updates, But his "reviews" of them are terrible. He likes every movie and it pisses me off. There could be a movie about looking at a cardboard box for 80 mins straight and Shawn's review would be "This is really weird, kinda strange movie. It's not for everyone but I really liked this one" 

UGH. I miss the days where Shawn would call something crap if it was crap.

yeah when he was fat and actually bought movies, not getting them for free... he used to say some movies were crap.

now he gets them for free, I think he feels he has to say anything positive that he finds in them. no matter how bad he'll say something good about them.

it's not like they are gonna cut him off if he didn't like something, don't lie to the people. they'll buy something he liked and they'll say it's crap.

Shawn's BF video has almost as many dislikes as likes. People saw the title "Black Friday Madness!" and thought they were going to see crazy shoppers fighting over doorbusters. Instead, they see a guy roaming around a store and talking about blu-rays he has no interest in buying.

...but the video still ended up getting 100k views. Mission accomplished.

I've noticed recently he's made the likes/dislikes hidden, wants to hide the fact that not everyone likes him.

also everyone calls their videos Black Friday Madness, but it's anything but. every year Shawn calls it the same thing, comes up in the search better.

He has been disabling likes on some videos recently though. I've noticed it too. I think that he thinks all the dislikes and negative comments are just wetmovie fans/trolls, but really his videos just suck and he's annoying.

His next Vegas video is coming soon. Last year he was getting pretty snippy in the comments with people pointing out how lame it was. I hope he realizes that just looking at blu-rays isn't going to cut it.

People were talking about it in the comments of his latest video. I have since watched the beginning of that video and he says it is indeed a "movie hunting" las vegas trip.

First video of his I have attempted to watch in months. I had to turn it off after only a few minutes because it's like watching every other update video he makes.

Haven't watched his new Las Vegas video, but good grief. I'd consider myself a "bluray/movie hunter" or collector...not a HUGE one like Shawn or Brendan maybe.....but I can't imagine going somewhere like Las Vegas just to buy movies or something. Man.

Had the video playing in the background...Maybe because I haven't watched anything Chauncey has done in the past few months, and maybe because I was only listening to audio - but goodness; every 3 sentences could be summarized in 1 sentence. He says "like I said" often, and this is because he'll re-word what he just said moments ago in slightly different words. He has a habit of narrating exactly what is on camera with zero input. I kind of stopped paying attention when he declared that the tank bed (from the show Tanked) as a must-see site in Vegas, then he proceeded to explain it's a bed...with a tank surrounding it. He also looked through a large shelf of DVD's too see if he could find the same poor-condition DVD he saw last year. Mannnnnn.

It surprises me that he hasn't picked up on his repetitiveness through years of editing and watching other youtubers. My theory is he doesn't really watch anything non-physical media related, so he can't learn from the successful rich youtubers.

Lmao at how their thumbnails look very similar and the videos were posted at the same time.

Wetmovie's video has over twice the amount of views that Shawn's does, although Wetmovie's has more dislikes than Shawn's percentage-wise.

Wasn't this like one of their "friendly" war things?

I'm not sure who uploaded first, but it looks like Shawn is going to win the "race" this year. His Black Friday video currently has 18k views, while Brendan's only has 12k views.

According to my (current) time stamps, Brendan uploaded his 10 hours ago, while Shawn and Danny uploaded theirs 9 hours ago. So it looks like Brendan uploaded his first.

Maybe Shawn is getting more views cause his is almost 30 mins while Danny and Brendan’s are almost 15 mins. Don’t know why Shawn feels the need to drag it out but his Black Friday videos tend to do well. Flick Pick’s are lackluster as usual.

He usually does. I saw a bunch close to when the video first got uploaded but most likely they’ll be deleted by now.

Brendan has got his usual ‘brush your teeth’ insults - he usually gets them on his Black Friday videos.

I don't think the length of the video matters that much. Shawn probably just ranks higher for certain search terms (e.g. "Black Friday 2019"). Perhaps the search algorithm penalizes channels with mature content? Shawn's videos are PG-rated.

Advertisers pay a little more this time of the year, so I'd imagine Shawn got a really nice payday. Probably 20x of what he gets with a typical Tuesday shopping trip. Disappointing year for Brendan, though.

I wonder who will win the "view race" this year. Shawn won it last year and no doubt he'll be determined to win it again. I'm guessing the queues will be even longer this year to avoid crowds inside and I don't see any point in trying, but they're usually Shawn and Brendan's "most viewed" videos of the year.

Shawn will probably win it this year. I think Brendan's videos are getting penalized by YouTube's algorithms because his content tends to be mature. He's already putting out early "Black Friday Madness" videos which probably isn't going to help his case as far as YouTube's search/recommended videos go. Brendan usually does a better job capturing the "madness" as he goes to these stores during the peak hours of Black Friday. He films long lines outside of stores and all those people going crazy over doorbuster deals. Shawn either goes too early or late. He hates crowds and driving in traffic.

Black Friday has been going on for a month. Walmart put their movies out over a week ago, and their televisions like 3 weeks ago. There's most likely not going to be any madness this year, not that there ever was any anyways.

A lot of those larger businesses don't want to be contact-traced to a covid surge, so they are spreading their sales over 4-6 weeks.

Chauncey will still put out a Black Friday video to capitalize on those that are curious about how Black Friday looks during a pandemic. He'll probably get more views this year, even though the video will have even less "madness" than his previous BF videos.
