I must admit, when it seemed most unlikely - Chauncey is rising through the ashes like a phoenix with a black hat.  I thought he should have taken acting classes, learned to edit & make better quality content, get an agent, work in local stage plays etc. Chauncey has bypassed all that mess, and created his own lane. Chauncey Phillips is next.

And HUGE news. He has offered a part to Brendan to appear in the movie. He described it as him extending an olive branch.

Well, this is... unexpected. I've always wondered if he still had an itch to direct. I figured that he stopped pursuing that dream because directing was too complex for him. He basically cites as "Don and Murph" as his only experience with directing, which was really just two friends goofing around in the basement. That was over a decade ago and hasn't aged well at all. It's a huge leap to go from that to directing a feature length film. I do wonder how much involvement Shawn will have in the filmmaking process. It's amazing this thing is at $25k. It just goes to show you how much money is sloshing around these days.

I think Chauncey will be helped significantly by his producer ( Julie Anne Prescott ). I honestly can't imagine him booking all sets, doing any sort of art direction, writing any of the dialogue etc.

I assume somebody else is writing the script - it probably wont be very tight, and they'll allow the actors to improvise their lines. My bet is it doesn't have any plot twists and sticks to a pretty standard Slasher synopsis.

I want to see some videos leading up to the production to gauge how involved Chauncey is, and if he's putting in effort.

Well, Shawn C. Phillips secured a lead role in an independent romantic drama called Under Three Moons, and honestly, it looks really good.  

May be his most high quality movie yet.

I don't see Chauncey Phillips with Scout Taylor Compton at all, lol.  

However, I do see a flicker of hope that Shawn C. Phillips will hook up with the one and only Lauren Francesca (Iwantmylauren).  The two actually are acquaintances in real life.

Chauncey definitely got a stiffy filming that scene. If it ever became an issue - Fortunately for him; there would probably be less red tape given it's an independent film.

Filming that scene in the bedroom probably had his heart rate elevated more than any of his 1 hour treadmill sessions; he probably lost 4 lbs that day.

I must admit I'm impressed that he's opening up to being nude up-top (no hat). I do genuinely think there's more roles out there for a quirky unusual looking 40 year old than there is for horny college kids in slashers.

Rumor has it that Lauren Francesca was giving Shawn a foot massage prior to this scene. That's why one of his socks is pulled up higher than the other.

Chauncey is now directing his 2nd feature film - Amittyville Shark House. It will be interesting given this film will definitely need CG. Not sure if Chauncey has the technical knowledge to film artistically - there must be a ghost director helping out.
