we all know any critisism he gets in the comments he just deletes them, doesnt come back with some witty reply.

now just found out he even got rid of the dislikes/likes ability. can't take all the thumbs down, what a baby.

someone asked why he removed them and Shawn replied, "tired of the trolls from wetmovie1's channel"

really, is he serious. does he think he's some sort of God or something, like the sun shines out of his ass?!

that other guy was right, he's got a big ego but even we know he's not perfect.

the user asked about wetmovie1 and Shawn said "we have gone in our own direction now, not gonna be doing videos with him anymore"

with every video you are gonna get likes and hates, if you can't hack it then you shouldn't be making videos.

I bet he gets real angry off camera when reading comments, f**king baby!

As someone who's followed both people/channels for quite a while (Coolduder since 2008 and Wetmovie1 not long after he first started appearing in Coolduder's videos, whenever that was--like 2011-2012?) I think it's interesting how even my own opinions of Coolduder and Wetmovie1 have changed over the years. Used to say it would be awesome to hang out with Shawn and MJ and I initially thought of Brendan and Gabe as "it could be fun, but they're the kind of people a little bit goes a long way". Like maybe because our personalities would clash so much, I could see them wearing thin on my nerves fairly fast.

Now? Faced with the option, despite some possible differences, I'd have to say I'd choose Brendan to hang out with.

What video did Shawn tell that person about Brendan and him going their separate ways?

I think pretty much everyone agrees that Brendan is a more fun guy to hang out with, seeing that nobody has appeared in one of Shawn's videos in a while. Watching Alex's videos with both, you could clearly tell that he had way more fun with Brendan and Fluffy than Shawn and his brother.

I wonder how bad the hate is going to have to get before Shawn makes a statement?

I skimmed over the thread topic and misread this as "just can't take off the hat can he?". Well Shawn must have noticed all the comments about the hat lately, and did the first 2 seconds of his latest video without the hat! Not exaggerating; I was really caught off-guard.

Have to admit, starting the video off with no hat caught me off guard too.

just saw it and to be honest it doesn't look that bad.

but yeah surprised to see him do that, was probably to get everyone to shut up.

I read the comments and pretty much everyone is always asking, why do you always wear a hat?

the intro is like "THIS IS WHY, YOU HAPPY?!" but it's not like he talked about it. maybe he will like one of those weight loss vids.

While he may look terrible completely shaved bald, there's no way it would ever look better with long hair on the sides like Hulk Hogan.

However, Shawn has said he plans on keeping the "hat look" because he wants to look mysterious. He's also said his acting roles require him to wear a hat because he typically portrays teenagers.

His Acting "career" is just going to plummet if he keeps playing teenagers being 30+ years old whilst always having to wear a cap. He also always over acts everything, If he doesn't try to develop his craft he is just going to stall indefinitely. His youtube channel has been on the decline too, everything is routine and nothing is improving even after the monumental weight loss.

how much longer can he keep up the teen roles? it's not like he looks young anyway, didn't look young when he was fat, doesn't look young now.

with loosing weight it can lead to wrinkles and saggy skin, especially in the face. he looks older then he is. he's almost got a turkey neck already!

I think Shawn disagrees with this. He said multiple times in the comments that he keep the hat for his acting gigs. He's basically been bald since 2009, so the vast majority of his acting career has been with a hat on.

I also noticed on his instagram he posted a screen capture of an app which calculated his age based on his photo. The post said 17 years old, to which Shawn enthusiastically accepted this as a compliment. I used the same exact photo that Shawn used, and the app estimated 23. Yes, the app is clearly inaccurate, but it seems that Shawn actually photoshopped it to make it appear the app estimated an even younger age. I think there's actually a deep rooted fear of growing up, and hair is a part of this.

I do personally believe he would get an equal amount of work portraying a guy in his late 30's / early 40's that happens to be bald though. He's closer to that than a teenager (in a physical sense).

I agree Shawn should take advice from Bruce Willis. Without the hat he will be able to act as father figures / working class men / soldiers and action lead type roles. I bet if Shawn had a serious portrayal of a single father struggling to make ends meet, or a suave sophisticated man in his late 30's that diffuses terrorist bombs - it would do wonders for his career compared to being cringy at a frat party. If he ends up doing weight lifting, who knows - he could actually play a cassanova Don Juan type. That would make a great transformation video! From Don to Don Juan!

I Feel like Shawn would have to become an adult first and gain that life experience before being able to play a convincing role, at the moment he still hasn't left the nest and hasn't taken any risks. If he was able to spend some time in the real world, it would give him such a boost in every aspect of his life.

I do agree that living a more independent life could teach him to become a more versatile actor. However; being an actor is the pretending business. He'll need to use these roles that are given to him to create a more diverse body of work.

I recommend everybody check out his Q&A on his Facebook. He admits to being more open on Facebook because of all the negative comments.

The things he covers are:

* MJ and Wetmovie1. Specifically the argument, and confirms they won't be on video together for a long time.
* Hairloss at 16, and how it affected him in his early vlogs before the hat, and managing the hair on film. Interestingly enough his youtube comments contradict what he says in the Q&A - lately in the comments he has been claiming he doesn't wear the hat much except on youtube / instagram. He admitted to deliberately wearing the hat in the hospital for the photo to piss the haters off.
* Relationship privacy on youtube.
* confirms he has never had a talent agent. All his work is through youtube contacts.

I've seen people say (before the IMDb boards closed) he and MJ are recently on comparatively better terms again. Is the Q and A where he talks about it?

oh my god, he doesn't look that young. if anything he looks older with or without that damn hat.

since he has now lost weight he has wrinkles and slight sagging/turkey neck.

he looks his age, I however have been told I look 15 - 20 years younger and I'm 34. have lost count on how many people have asked me my age and have been shocked with my answer. people think I'm still in school. if you look up aussieeighties in Instagram and scroll through my geeky pics you'll see a pic of me.

tell me who looks younger and older.

Shawn does have puffy, rounded / non-defined features, which are associated with being young. i.e. he has a wide, round & flat nose, rosy cheeks, and droopy / sleepy eyes. However, I don't think that makes him look younger than he is, he just looks less masculine. Like an old baby if you will. If he had a low hairline, he would probably look in his late twenties...buttt, he doesn't. With his Hulk Hogan hair, it's going to age you no matter how youthful your facial features are. The flawed logic Shawn has is he is comparing how he looks with a hat on and long hair on the sides (which creates the illusion that he has hair) to how he would look fully shaved bald. Of course he's going to look older - he's comparing an illusion to reality. That might sound like I'm shitting on him, but I'm not. I think he would look way better being honest about his hair. A hair transplant would be too expensive, and if you can't take a photo of yourself without a hat it's like being a prisoner inside a snapback. He could go the Enrique Iglesias route with a wig, but there's no way he could keep that a secret. Solution - rock the shaved head. He's lost the weight so he won't look like Uncle Fester anymore.

Shawn looks exactly like Herb, and his brother Ethan looks exactly like Gina. Seems like Ethan lucked out with the hair genes.

I think there's quite a few Half Truths in this Q&A, still quite insightful though. MJ is still one who must not be named. Apparently Joe Frantz was highly over exaggerating their communication when Jackass 3 came out and Shawn has been losing hair since he was 16 but is still holding on to the last few strands he has left.

To top it off Brendan and Shawn are on 'good terms but have gone their separate ways in life' in other words I'd say that they're still not on good terms. He mentioned not being in videos together anymore as to not stir up the trolls when in fact it would have the opposite effect. I don't see the joking feud style youtube comments dying down too soon...

Chauncey is a baby

I called him baldy boy on one of his vid's and he blocked me from commenting lol. I've always been supportive and subscribed to him, but once you say just one thing that he doesn't like he will block you and delete your comments hahaha

I don't think disabling the like bar will help him at all aside from maybe keeping his fragile ego intact. personally whenever I come across a video with likes or comments disabled I just assume it sucks and don't bother watching it. I imagine many others are the same. new viewers might just end up avoiding his videos.

he'll loose subs every time he blocks someone, so every time he gets a negative comment he'll have a hissy fit about it an ban them. that makes sense, how about coming up with a witty response?! you can't go through life thinking the sun shines out of your ass, with every video youtubers make there are gonna be people who love or hate your content. deal with it! he should just not read the comments or even reply to them, like wetmovie.

Shawn is very, very sensitive about the baldness. Think about it; he wears a beanie in the pool, and a hat in the hospital. He's been told literally hundreds of times that he should shave the sides and stop hiding under the hat, but he responses are denial that he wears the hat all that much. He's going to monitor comments because he wants his new subscribers to think he has Patrick Swayze-esque hair under the hat. I am convinced this is a deep rooted obsession with being young. No job, no responsibility, complete freedom. I don't buy that he's going all-in on being an actor - he has done nothing to evolve. No acting lessons, no agents, has no desire to improve his VLOG quality. Complete apathy. Oh to be young!

I don't think he cares about the subscribers. If he did, he would make his content funnier, be "youtube charismatic" (i.e. loud, awesome social life, faster paced etc), be less repetitive, and use better quality equipment.   He wants a crowd that shares his collecting obsession (reasonable), but does not want any criticism (constructive or not).

To be honest I really thought Shawn was going to be a SyFy horror regular, and I mean this as a compliment. I thought he would show up in Sharknado or something to that quality...But none of this is going to happen because he hasn't evolved. The weight loss was great, but the other obstacles will need to be faced.

He must get alerts everytime a comment is posted on his videos and he immediately reviews it to see if he will allow it. That's no life at all. He's in his 30s, he should be out living life.
