Shawn C. Phillips may have possibly scored his big break!

He secured a lead role in a new romantic drama!  This is Shawn C. Phillips's foray into romantic movies, and he has third billing!  

Honestly, i hate to admit it, but this film looks like it could be a sleeper hit at film festivals.   This is the type of movie that Amazon or Netflix could easily pick up.  It looks really promising, and Shawn C. Phillips looks like has a very meaty role...    

If this movie proves to be a hit at the film festival circuit, Shawn C. Phillips's status could elevate.  This is a legitimate movie, not some cheapo Z-movie horror flick.

Chauncey has previously said he wanted to be in a Lifetime direct-to-TV romantic production, but said he thinks he's better suited as the male lead's best friend - and not the lead romantic interest.

Seems like this is exactly what he was aiming for, and the production looks to be quality - it will be interesting to see how Chauncey tackles a role with some depth. I'm expecting his character is be wise, and serve as a emotional navigator for the male lead.

Everything is coming up Chauncey in 2021.

Between Brendan Mitchell and Shawn C. Phillips, Shawn has always come across as the more quixotic of the two.  Don't know why I got that vibe from him.  He always came across as more of a dreamer and hopeless romantic compared to Brendan.

Brendan, i don't think really cares too much about finding the right girl or getting into long term relationships.  i think he's actually happy not having any relationships or emotional attachments.  He tends to prefer one night stands whereas Shawn seems like he wants somebody he can share his movie hunting life with.  I think he will eventually hook up with either a struggling actress, a make-up artist who works in movies, or a fellow female YouTuber. 

Brendan I've seen actually go out on dates (he posts them  on YouTube, e.g. "Bad Girl Bea.")  It actually looks like he has a casual relationship with Bad Girl Bea, e.g. not really seriously dating, but pretending to date for YouTube.

I also agree with you.  Under Three Moons looks like a real quality film.  If they market this right, it could be a sleeper hit at film festivals.  It could even be picked up by Netflix or Amazon Prime if it's really good.  

This is Shawn's first foray into independent dramas (NOT cheapo B-movies) so it'll be interesting to watch his career trajectory.  And looking at Shawn C. Phillips's Facebook page, he definitely seems to be really proud of being part of this one.  It's not a pro forma horror flick, but an in-depth character drama and human interest story that could light up the film festival circuit if done right.  And judging from the Indiegogo page, he looks to be a big part of this film.

Here's my prediction. Chauncey's character either:

a) Is a love interest and 'the other man', who despite sharing intimate moments - honorably tells the female lead to go with the male lead because he wants her to be truly happy, even if it causes himself heartbreak.

b) Is the best friend of the male lead, and at one moment tells the male lead to go 'chase the girl'. Chauncey will be the wise friend who gives meaningful advice that steers the direction of the third act.

I'm hoping to see a more serious, emotional Chauncey. Perhaps a suit or adult attire.

If I am to guess, he's probably playing the best friend of the lead (judging from what i read in the Indiegogo campaign of Under Three Moons).

Is Shawn C. Phillips a member of SAG (Screen Actor's Guild) by any chance?  Has he ever been offered to join SAG?

Nope, he's not a part of SAG. I would assume it would be of his benefit regarding health insurance, but it might prevent him from working on the low budget projects that he likes.

I wouldn't read too much into this. The actors here are all nobodies and Shawn is the most "famous" one there because of his YouTube channel. I doubt it's a substantial role. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, they mention the female lead's best friend, as well as the father of the male lead. You'd think that "Wilhelm" would be listed there if his role was prominent.

The summary mentions that the main character is obsessed with aliens. My guess is Shawn plays one of those nutjobs who goes to UFO conventions. I'd be shocked if he's given more than a few lines. But who knows?

He his his acting peak almost a decade ago with those two syfy movies where he was the token fat guy. Everything else has been Z grade trash that no one watches.
