I have been able to download these videos for 3 weeks running, until
this week.
It seems some block has been put on it.
When CoolJah is open the video won't play [it gives message about
technical fault].
When I close Cooljah the video plays.
[I tried to report it via 'Tough url Report' but that kept failing]

Hi confused,

the video only plays in the UK so I will have to set up some proxy to be able to have a look into the technical side of things. Always enjoy a technical challenge though. Will report back later today with info about the video and how to get it hopefully.

Do you know a good working proxy to view sites in the UK from outside? Find that all the web proxy services won't let me load the videos so far.. any help is appreciated, thanks.

would know how.
Thanks for trying though

So far it seems harder than I thought to get a working proxy. Will try with proxy software next. Hendy do you have any idea about a good working proxy or proxy software? This darn ITV site is giving me some trouble actually loading the video. Once it is loading I am sure I can get it with or without Coojah, it is just a matter of actually getting to play it. Can you help please?

Hi, sorry for delay, bit busy.
No, it is playing ok here.
As I said in first post, it 'appears' offline'/down when trying to
play it with CooJah open [it gives a message about a technical
problem].
As soon as I close Coojah the video is available again, and plays.

confused cross-posted this in another thread:
"OK, it's a video, eventually, [the link I have had to give on this
thread is the page link to it].
But Coojah was giving the rtmpe url link, and then right-click enabled
it to be downloaded by blader
[as most of the stuff I read about Coojah links it up with Blader -
sorry I did not make that clear earlier, I just thought that the two
went together in people's usage]

but, Coojah has to sniff the url first for that to be done
and that is what is not working anymore and I suspect the sites [ITV
AND Channel 4], have somehow put a block to it - for some reason

it's annoying as I'm not making money through it - just want to share
some progs that British ex-pats can't access."

my reply:
don't worry, I am almost getting it sorted, found a working proxy and actually found that itv.com's servers are in the US, so anyways, I will get this done, there is a whole team of buddies on the IRC on this now and we are happily taking on itv.com as challenge, the stream type is rtmpe that is already clear, now it is only a matter of finding the right command line to put into rtmpdump and perhaps trying out a few versions of rtmpdump and explain that in plain english to people with not so much experience, this is what I love about this challenge, opening invisible doors and getting content that otherwise is not available, just great. perhaps by tomorrow morning you already have the solution in your email.

we are working on it.. and loving every minute of it.. hehe you will get your videos sooner or later, no worries.. hehe :-*

rtmpe URL i got this afternoon:

rtmpe://cp72511.edgefcs.net/ondemand?auth=eaEcNaHaGdKaFcda6aybmc4abc_bJdgaBdFcidvcJd.dWbEaqdybBb9a0c4aGbUardL-bnH2Jp-eS-dxp1EDtjwtzp&aifp=v002&slist=production

see the "auth" in there, that is the key, it is encrypted, but not to worry, rtmpdump can handle that.. unfortunately coojah6 can't for some reason, perhaps you Hendy can explain why? if you need a working proxy let me know but I am not sure if it will work across the great firewall round China, your comment on it though will be highly appreciated, thanks.

laters,
sam

you have a good night's rest and we will see more tomorrow, really enjoying this, if you google "rtmpdump" and "rip rtmpe stream" in connection with rtmpdump there is answers, it makes it hard here as I have to do all testing over the proxy and that takes time, but it will get done eventually..

any ways, speak soon

I have read stuff about rtmpdump and I just can't get my head round it

I realise it is difficult for you because of the need for a proxy - I
wonder if you use another programme over there.

sorry but I have been quite busy over here but nevertheless there has been some progress, I have managed to collect a couple of links and am working on an easy to apply method, the thing is you mentioned that you would like your friends from outside the UK to see this so ideally two things are needed, an easy to understand way of browsing the site from outside the UK and still be able to see the videos and then for the second step and easy to understand way of actually downloading the content, I am on it and will post results as soon as I have a bullet proof method for sure.

Before I post my considerable research can you just try out and see if
this works for you being a UK resident:

http://www.streamtransport.com/

If this does or does not work for you please report back. We will then
figure out a way for your expat friends to download videos from ITV from
outside the UK.

Sorry this has taken so long, besides working on this with a proxy and
finding easy to use bowser addons that keep the location anonymous it is
also tough to find something that is simple to use for others.

For me from outside the UK this worked:

1. get Tor UK Catchup TV(Original Version) - Tor UK Catchup TV Package Beta V0.3.zip [Windows] from here:

http://www.zumodrive.com/share/6HLiY2RiNT

ATTENTION my virus protection FLAGGED THIS OTHER DOWNLOAD

"Tor UK Catchup TV(MyP2P Version) - Tor UK Catchup TV Package Beta V0.3.zip & The Fixed exe(Just replace the old one with this) [Windows]"

from the MyP2P site so I do not recommend getting it even if it was just a generic packed warning.

ᅵ2. Simply extract and hit "Start Tor UK Catchup TV.exe" then browse to Dancing on Ice here for exampleᅵ http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=225906 and enjoy from round the world.

3. Currently still looking for a way to download those streams. Hence let me know what results you got from http://www.streamtransport.com/

4. If inside the UK http://www.streamtransport.com/ did work for you let me know what the downloading URL is (copy/paste) so that I can work from that and learn to parse the URL I get over here through TOR and Foxy Proxy settings and URL Snooper 2.

5. Please do not mind that the TOR version in the above download is outdated. I am collecting the settings and will in due time write a little info on how to get all that going with the latest TOR browser bundle.

Hope all of this helps. Let me know the outcome please and post as much info as possible. Thanks.

Have a good weekend.
sam
