Disneyhas a rich and long history of making amazing animated movies, so I want to bring you my top 50 animated movies available on Disney+. This list includes movies from Disney, Pixar and 20th Century Fox.
Taran is an assistant pigkeeper with boyish dreams of becoming a great warrior. However, he has to put the daydreaming aside when his charge, an oracular pig named Hen Wen, is kidnapped by an evil lord known as the Horned King. The villain hopes Hen will show him the way to The Black Cauldron, which has the power to create a giant army of unstoppable soldiers. A hidden gem among the Disney animated movies.
Leaving the safety of their nursery behind, Wendy, Michael and John follow Peter Pan to a magical world where childhood lasts forever. But while in Neverland, the kids must face Captain Hook and foil his attempts to get rid of Peter for good. A proper Disney classic!
Dumbo is a baby elephant born with over-sized ears and a supreme lack of confidence. But thanks to his even more diminutive buddy Timothy the Mouse, the pint-sized pachyderm learns to surmount all obstacles.
Disney take an obscure Marvel comic book and give it a make over to deliver a superhero movie that not only kids will enjoy. The story focuses on the special bond that develops between plus-sized inflatable robot Baymax, and prodigy Hiro Hamada, who team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes.
When Quasimodo defies the evil Frollo and ventures out to the Festival of Fools, the cruel crowd jeers him. Rescued by fellow outcast the gypsy Esmeralda, Quasi soon finds himself battling to save the people and the city he loves.
As a huge video game fan, this movie is right up my street, with lots of small references to classic video games, that take this to a different level! The story sees Wreck It Ralph travel to other video games because he is fed up with being the villain, which leads him to Vanellope von Schweetz in the kart racing game, Sugar Rush. But the whole game is put at risk from their actions. This is one of the most unique classic animated movies available and certainly one to watch.
A waitress, desperate to fulfill her dreams as a restaurant owner, is set on a journey to turn a frog prince back into a human being, but she has to face the same problem after she kisses him. This is one of the rare modern movies that uses the traditional 2D art style that many in this list have used.
Disney managed to retell the story of Rapunzel in a unique way that sees her strike a deal with the handsome thief and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an overprotective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs. Personally this is my favourite Disney Princess movie because of the humour that the sidekicks and Flynn Rider bring to the story.
For adults, Up features one of the most heartbreaking scenes in a Disney movie and one that left me in tears. The film tells the story of Carl Fredricksen, who has spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have passed him by, until a twist of fate (and a persistent 8-year old Wilderness Explorer named Russell) gives him a new lease on life. A must watch.
And an honorable mention has to go to the original Toy Story that kicked off not just Pixar but the whole computer animated movie business and will no doubt be one of the most watched movies on Disney+.
Oh my goodness, I cannot tell you how much I disagree with where some of the moves are placed on this list! :) On the other hand, what a great list of movies...I loved reading your reasoning, even if I disagree. haha
At a short runtime, this one is highly recommended viewing. Just consider that the style of animation was considered good at the time but comes across now as a bit too stylized and rubbery (in my humble opinion).
This is the follow-up to Caravan of Courage and was released a year later in 1985. It continues the story of Cindel, the girl from Caravan of Courage, and her further adventures with Wicket and the Ewoks. It also stars Wilford Brimley (looking like a proto-Gandalf) who is as lovable here as he is in just about every role he ever did. Battle for Endor is generally considered better than Caravan with more action and a more intense story. There's still plenty of cuteness to go around but we get the added over-the-top villains this time, and there's more at stake for our heroes. I remember this one less than I do its predecessor so I'm looking forward to diving in to see what nostalgic triggers get switched on in my memory. Note: The Mandalorian draws from this movie also and brings back blurrgs, the two-legged beasts of burden that Din Djarin must learn to ride.
The Ewoks cartoon, like most cartoons on the Saturday morning rounds, was a half-hour program that ran for two seasons (a typical run at the time). Alongside Ewoks was another Star Wars cartoon called Droids, which, together made an entire hour of weekend Star Wars content. Droids is not yet available on Disney+ but it is said it will come to the service eventually. Ewoks contains many of the same furry characters we saw in Return of the Jedi and in the TV movies mentioned above. There's Wicket, of course, but also Teebo, Logray, Chief Chirpa (most of whom had Kenner action figures) and some new characters, too, like Malani and Asha. Each episode usually featured the Ewoks facing problems with the Duloks, an antagonistic species of inhabitants on Endor.
There's already The Clone Wars on Disney+. What's this, you ask? Well, you're in for a treat with this one! This one I would consider to be the main event of the Vintage Collection and is not to be missed! You don't need further explanation. Stop reading, give yourself just a couple hours, and watch all of this!
I mention all the episode history because when you watch it you'll notice some strange pacing that doesn't seem like a continuous story. When combined, Volume 1 does seem a little scattered and abrupt, but it's also quick with action and doesn't overstay its welcome. Volume 2 seems more steady and that was done on purpose, with its longer-length episodes and overarching story. Regardless of all this, I beg you to watch them.
In this series you'll find some wonderful ideas and characters that eventually returned into the canon series later. This was meant as the original story to bridge Attack of the Clones to Revenge of the Sith, which follows the adventures of the Jedi as they're leading battles against droid armies and Separatists across the galaxy. In particular, we see more adventures with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker that had no time in the primary saga films to show their growing friendship as well as hints of Anakin's fall to the dark side. On top of that, we see the first appearance of some beloved characters like Sith-wannabe Asaaj Ventress, the dark assasin. We find C-3PO first getting his gold plating. Most notable is the first appearance of General Grievous, who comes with a bit more of a sinister take on his character than what we'd see later. In fact, this series is the first to explain his creepy cough.

If so here's a list of Disney films which I now considered problematic. And while the Disney company is at it how about changing the outdated MPAA G rating to a PG rating on these films on Disney Plus which include.
So yeah, that's the list of problematic Disney films. What do you IMDB staff and users think, Should Disney Plus add additional warnings to these Disney films? I personally think they should add warning labels to these select films, since times in the 2020's are now different than in my 1990s childhood years.
I'm just concerned about the Native Americans in North America portrayal in films and video games because Disney Pocahontas 1995 is a painful reminder of what happened to their ancestors with the white men driving Native Americans from their homes and mistreating them.
The Hunchback of Norte Dame films including the 1996 Disney film. I have a hard time watching, because I don't like seeing discrimination towards people with disabilities like Quasimodo shown on film and I didn't like seeing Frollo stalking and harassing Esmeralda.
I have best friends who have disabilities and I have autism. I just don't like seeing negative portrayal of people with disabilities like Captain Hook, Quasimodo on film and video games, and I'd rather see positive portrayal of people with disabilities portrayed on film and in video games. But, what's history is history, I can't go back in time and change it, so I just have to move on with life.
