Hello all you centering pray-ers—
Lenten greetings to you and a reminder that the United in Prayer Day sponsored by Contemplative Outreach is coming up in just two days on this Saturday. Here are some details for us locally and beyond:
Contemplative Outreach United in Prayer Day 2017: God Is Love
Ways you can celebrate this 25th annual worldwide day of prayer:
Saturday, March 18, 9am-1pm, St. Andrew’s
Join others at St. Andrew’s for a retreat morning that includes times of centering prayer, two brief segments from Fr. Keating’s God Is Love series, lectio divina, and time for reflection. Sponsored by Contemplative Outreach NW with support from The Center at St. Andrew’s.
If you are unable to be present at St. Andrew’s in person, find resources online to help you plan your own private retreat. Go here for more information: http://www.contemplativeoutreach.org/prayer-vigil.
Friday, March 17, through Saturday, March 18
A 24-hour, worldwide silent prayer vigil will be hosted by Contemplative Outreach to recognize and build up the unity of existence with our Creator, with all humanity and with all creation. All are welcome to sign up for 30-minute prayer periods, either as individuals or in groups. Go here for more info and to sign up: http://www.contemplativeoutreach.org/united-prayer-day-2017
Please note the links where you can get more information online and also feel free to email or call me on my cell phone (see below) if you have any questions.
A couple of things about Saturday: If you would like to bring a small Lenten morning appropriate snack to share, that would be great. If you would like to help set up or clean up, that would also be most welcome.
And finally an invitation: Want to let you know that the current leadership of Contemplative Outreach Northwest (core team, presenters, and others) will be meeting on Saturday afternoon after the quiet morning. If you hear any call to help in contemplative servant leadership, please email or call me to discuss what you are feeling called to. We are not asking for any big commitments, rather some small way you might help out, like organizing hospitality, becoming a facilitator of a prayer group, contributing to admin work for intro workshops and retreat preparation. Distributing the work load makes what CONW offers possible without too much sacrifice on the part of any one individual or a few. If you have a practice of centering prayer and a commitment to this path, please prayerfully consider this invitation to service and to Saturday afternoon’s meeting.
RSVP’s very helpful to plan for space, but come anyway even if you don’t know ahead of time. You are always welcome. Hope to hear from you and to see you on Saturday.
Many blessings for this Lenten season,
cherry
