Advent greetings to all you Centering Pray-ers—
Want to let you know—or remind you—of some contemplative opportunities here at St. Andrew’s.
On these Wednesday evenings of Advent we will have two periods of Centering Prayer with a short contemplative walk between and a time of Advent reflection afterward.
This Saturday, December 3, is the traditional Advent Quiet Morning in St. Andrew’s Parish Hall. We begin with morning prayer followed by two periods of centering prayer and then an hour of unstructured silence. This morning is a lovely way to enter into the spirit of the season, to give yourself the gift of silence, and thus to be prepared to give of yourself to your family and the world.
Finally on Sunday afternoon December 11, there will be a facilitated Advent labyrinth walk at 4:30. This will be the inaugural group walk for the new labyrinth completed by Dan Niven as part of the St. Andrew’s Sacred Grounds project. You are welcome to stay afterward to the 6pm Taize service that is especially beautiful during Advent.
I’m attaching a flyer with details. You are welcome to any or all of these offerings. An RSVP is greatly appreciated to help with planning but don’t let that request keep you away. You are always welcome, even at the last minute! We have to take those opportunities when they come.
Please let me know if you have questions. And please feel free to pass on this information to any others you know who might be interested.
Advent blessings of peace, love, and joy,
cherry
