Contemplative Prayer opportunity: Centering Prayer Introductory Program
Contemplative Outreach Northwest* announces the presentation of the Centering Prayer Introductory Program.
If you are longing for a deeper and more intimate relationship with God, Centering Prayer gives you a way to say “yes” to God’s presence and action in your life. It is a method of silent prayer that leads to contemplation and a deeper relationship with God. This Program is valuable for those new to centering prayer and those who seek to deepen their existing practice. Even if you have at one time attended a Centering Prayer Introductory Workshop or are in a centering prayer group, this Program can deepen your practice and let you hear and see anew.
The Program presents centering prayer in four sessions beginning on Saturday, May 20, 2017 (8:30 AM - 3:00 PM), and continuing on three Saturdays in June: June 3, 10 and 24 (all 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM). All sessions will take place in Seattle at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 111 NE 80th St., Seattle, WA.98115. The cost of the Program is just $75.00. Scholarships are available. Please inquire to CONW at: mberna...@yahoo.com.
You can access the Program flyer for further information at http://www.saintandrewsseattle.org/centering-prayer/

*Contemplative Outreach Northwest (CONW, www.conw.org) is a chapter of Contemplative Outreach (www.contemplativeoutreach.org). The intent of Contemplative Outreach is to foster the process of transformation in Christ in one another through the practice of the Centering Prayer.
“Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God's presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. …Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other kinds of prayer. Rather, it adds depth of meaning to all prayer and facilitates the movement from more active modes of prayer - verbal, mental or affective prayer - into a receptive prayer of resting in God.” (www.contemplativeoutreach.org)
