Bruce Almighty i thought was a very Islamic Movie.. full of Islamic themes.. ofcourse you cannot except perfection in American movies.. so i recommend you ignore a human black/blue/white God. (morgan freeman). Nobody is suggesting that God is black or white or even a Human. The story of the movie uses a black human God as metophorically.. and explains why Dua's always dont get approved. Why dua's and wishes dont come true.. This movie answered my questions which i found it to be a very Islamic intelligent logical answer.
The movie isn't islamic. That's not what they're saying. They're saying look at the meanings of things in the movies. they were amazing. I loved it for the simple fact that they're showing you a human being cannot be God. Dont question God becaue He has his own agenda for everybody. He challenged God and he saw what came out of the challenge. Bruce lost.
In my view, this movie was made against islam and to put islams name down, by showing that a human has the powers of God ( and related issues ) ... in islam, it's not permissible to watch such movies because all of this goes against the religion. This is all a game of the jews/americans as a fight on the islamic ummah and we should stand up against this instead of comin up with nonesense like "Bruce Almighty i thought was a very Islamic Movie"
It also dealt with another Deen issue, the part when Morgan asked Carey never to interfere with freewill. As we all know human beings are all born with free will, and no one can force us in to doing or believing in certain things.
At first when it came out everyone was like oh you shouldn't watch it...but i did and it was good! I can't remeber all of it...but i now freeman had two rules to being god - one being you can't interfere with a person's free will and i don't remember the 2nd one...that is something muslims can agree with because Allah has given us free will!
If y'all are thinkign it's anti islamic because they are portraying god as a person than they are doing the same to other religions as they belive in a god - superior being as well! It's a movie people - i'm all for the metaphor zanadine said!
i know when it was out all the posters around harrow cancelled out the bruce and put Allah (that was cool!!) but i'm sure i heard that someone in stanmore gave a lecture on why we should watch it, but i wasn't there so sorry can't say what he said!
And about the jew/american thingy, they attack islam in indirect wayz ( as in the matrix reloaded, it shared the same views about having mighty powers .. i didn't watch that either, but my bro told me )...
ooohh didn't realise you knew what Allah would do!...i don't think you are in a position to say this especially when you haven't even given a signifcant reason as to why this movie shouldn't be watched!
Bruce Nolan (Carrey), a television reporter in Buffalo, N.Y.,is discontented with almost everything in life despite his popularity and the love of his girlfriend, Grace (Aniston) . At the end of the worst day of his life, Bruce angrily ridicules and rages against God and God responds. God appears in human form (Freeman) and, endowing Bruce with divine powers, challenges Bruce to take on the big job to see if he can do it any better.
Bruce Nolan is a television reporter, who is currently assigned what he considers to be undignified assignments, that has him being the butt of a joke. When he is told that he is being considered for the position of anchorman, he goes out to do a live feed but when it is announced that Evan Baxter was going to be the new anchorman, and he freaks out. He gets fired, beaten up, and so on. In the end he blames God. God then decides to give Bruce his powers. Bruce then wreaks havoc and is enjoying it. He sabotages Evan and gets the job of anchorman. But when he realizes that he has to deal with what has got to be God's most arduous task, listening and answering prayers. When he tries to grant everybody what they want, turmoil ensues. And while Bruce is getting everything he wants, he has been ignoring his girlfriend, Grace and loses her. And it seems that the only thing that he can't do, is alter a person's free will, so if he wants her back, he has to do it the hard way.
A newscaster for the Channel 7 Eyewitness News complains about how God has only made his life a total waste. Well, Bruce Nolan, played by Jim Carrey, gets that chance after he freaks out on live TV, is fired and is offered a new job by an unknown place. He meets God and is given all the powers of God. At first he loves it. He can do anything but when he discovers others in Buffalo who are praying, he learns that maybe this job of being God isn't really that easy.
Bruce is a down on his luck TV news reporter. In a fit of desperation he challenges God and vents that if only he had God's power, he could solve all his problems. God responds to his challenge and allows Bruce to take on his powers to prove himself. Bruce soon learns that being God is very challenging.
As we can see .... they're playing around with Gods name and thinking that it's so simple to do such things, where in islam, this is not allowed.... and u could've given the same point in a different way instead of getting God into all these stuff.
Bruce Almighty was shown that he wasn't Almighty and cannot challenge the Al-Mighty in the movie hence the above discussion and since you haven't seen it, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, and same goes for The Matrix.
Bruce Almighty will teach you in a funny way that you do NOT challenge the will of God; that your dua'a does nto necessarily have to be answered just because YOU feel it should; that God has the final say and he knows best.
Now did i walk out after the movie saying, "ISTAGFARALLAH, They tried to brainwash the people into showing them Morgan is God, and God is black.. " and blah blah blah friggin blah... you missed the whole point of it.
I dont know, i left the movie and took the lessons with me. I agree they could've been shown differently.... but then again we're not talking about Muslim producers and actors. Not that it's an excuse but .. ahh.. anyways...
I recently watched Bruce Almighty, and I must say that it was a good funny movie that had a strong message for the audience. I also understand that many feel that this movie somehow degrades Allah (swt) for whatever reason, however I beg to differ. As a member mentioned earlier, not all American movies are perfect. A quick rundown: Bruce is unhappy in life. Confronts God. God grants him his wish. Bruce misuses his power and becomes even more greedy. Bruce loses his girlfriend. He realizes his mistakes. Tries to do good. Learns his lesson. Lesson to be learned: You think you know, but you have no idea!
Look, this movie judged by its cover is in no way Islamic, but beyond the cover and the actors, there is an underlying message. If you dwell on the cover, you wont get passed the first page. Honestly, it isnt that bad! :)
Wether the movie had a good or a good lesson, we shouldn't care, because when the issue concerns God, we should put that ( God issue ) into the primary section and anything else into the secondary section
Bruce gettin all this power and becomin a God-like human is totally against our beliefs... Go ask any scholar if it's permissible to watch such things and i bet he'll give u the same answer that i gave.
I probably know quite a few people who live here in the west that would challenge you and your knowledge of "islamic ways" and put you to shame! how can i make such statement? Because they wouldn't ever dare say something so foolish lol...
