Hi,
Finally an Apache2 licensed minimal project for better queues!
Did you benchmark it against other alternative implementations?

Yes,
Conversant Disruptor benchmarks very well against all other queue implementations that I am aware of.
You can run the benchmarks yourself:
https://github.com/conversant/disruptor_benchmark
In my benchmarking I found Conversant Disruptor to be the fastest current BlockingQueue implementation:
http://engineering.conversantmedia.com/opensource/2016/02/12/conversant-disruptor-fastest
Hope you try it yourself!
John
