Crucial Ballistix RAM

Hi

I have the following in my pc:

3GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer 8500 + 1 GB Ballistix 8500 (yellow color)

I have been having BSODs frequently with error linked to memory like
memory management, IRQ less than or equal to, etc. Sometimes the PC
works properly. Then apps/windows programs start to crash and it wld
bsod. I ran memtest on the ram and it reported errors if i just had
BSOD. When the pc works fine, memtest reports ok.

I presume the RAM is not stable. Can i RMA these rams? I just want to
have a fresh set of new ram (light or without light) to get rid of the
nuisance BSODs. Thanks.

Just bring the rams down to us, we will help you rma it to Crucial.

Do take note that the Ballistix series of Crucial rams are already end of life.

Hi Convergent

 

I hv sent in the 2 x1GB tracers for RMA and got back the normal CT12864AA1067 rams.

I can run 2GB of either the 2 replaced rams or the 1GB tracer + 1GB non-tracer in either slot 1 & 3 or 2 & 4 of my MSI P45 platinum with no problem.

But if i put in 1GB in slot 1 or 3, then there is problem of BSOD, etc. Same if i put in both. It means i can only run 2GB smoothly, which is slow for a Win7 system.

 

Can you please tell me whether there is compatible issue or is there any setting that i need to run in the bios?

 

Oh, if i put in 2GB, the bios detected as 1066mhz and if i put in 3gb, it displayed 800mhz? Is that the causes?
