I am just trying out EndeavorOS (xfce version) on an ex-win7 mini-tower. I like it - very impressed with the speed.
I have installed Scribus-1.5.7, among other things, and even when running alone, every time I launch scribus, after initialising, as soon as it draws the application window, it displays a message box: scribus crashes due to signal #11.
You can disregard all the "crashes" you got when trying to "sudo" it. Just don't.
If that's your testcase, your testcase is broken.
If you have pending issues when *not* sudo'ing scribus (w/ or w/o splash), please elaborate on those.
I want to share here my efforts in newspaper making with latex. The latest try is using scribus and render frames. The success so far: partially register-true layout and the render frames that adjust multicols to the size of the render frame - horizontally and vertically - the latter my achievement.
