GarminInternational, Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), today

announced the vvomoveTM HR,

a hybrid smartwatch with activity tracking, ElevateTM

wrist-based heart rate1, smart notifications and a

touchscreen display. Precision hands show the time and dynamically move

out of the way for easy viewing of messages, heart rate and more. A

master of subtlety, the smart display only appears when the user turns

their wrist. Style-obsessed, rejoice: The vvomove HR combines the

latest and greatest Garmin connectivity, fitness and wellness monitoring

features with an elegant, classic design. The vvomove HR is one of the

many new wearables from Garmin being launched in conjunction with IFA in

Berlin, Germany, September 1-6.

Stay connected throughout the day with vibration alerts for emails,

texts, calls, app alerts, social media updates and more from a

compatible smartphone4. Users will also benefit from the

ability to control music on their smartphone from the vvomove HR and

send an alert to locate a misplaced smartphone.

Throughout the day, the vvomove HR automatically syncs with the Garmin

Connect mobile app to save stats for easy access later. In Garmin

Connect, a free online community, users can see data like workouts,

strength training activities, stress levels and sleep patterns displayed

on detailed graphs right from a compatible smartphone or desktop

computer.

Perfect for customers who enjoy a variety of activities, the vvomove

comes preloaded with profiles for walking, running, cardio and strength

training. And thanks to Garmin Move IQTM, users can set up

the device to automatically start and stop a timed walk or run activity.

The vvomove HR also counts steps, intensity minutes, sleep, stairs

climbed and more, and reminds users when they have been still for too

long.

The ever-expanding Garmin fitness segment develops technologies to

enhance and promote healthy and active lifestyles. Whether users are

runners, cyclists, swimmers, multi-sport athletes, or simply looking to

stay active throughout the day, there is a Garmin product that can help

them reach their health and fitness goals.

Garmin International, Inc., is a subsidiary of Garmin Ltd. (Nasdaq:

GRMN). Garmin Ltd. is incorporated in Switzerland, and its principal

subsidiaries are located in the United States, Taiwan and the United

Kingdom. Garmin is a registered trademark and vvomove, Elevate, Move

IQ, Connect IQ and Garmin Connect are trademarks of Garmin Ltd. or its

subsidiaries.

Fashionably fit is just a tap away with vvomove HR. This stylish hybrid smartwatch features a touchscreen with a hidden display. Real watch hands show the time and dynamically move away when you swipe through your messages, heart rate and more. It counts your steps and calories while monitoring wellness, including all-day stress tracking and advanced sleep monitoring.

You get the best of both worlds when physical, ticking watch hands meet a touchscreen and a hidden display. The smart display only appears when you quickly turn your wrist to glance at your watch. The watch hands even dynamically move out of the way when you interact with the touchscreen then move back to the correct time when you are done.

No need to start and stop your activity timer each time you begin a walking or running activity. The vvomove HR smartwatch automatically starts these activities and then lets you review your daily activities on Garmin Connect.

In addition to the usual steps and stairs, the vvomove can monitor your sleep, track your menstrual cycle, keep an eye on your heart rate, record stress levels and help you keep tabs on your Body Battery (one of my favorite Garmin-specific metrics that measures rest and activity to determine overall energy).

Garmin does some interesting things with that crisp new display. There are watch faces that animate when you turn the watch towards you. Workout animations (which are also on the new vivoactive 4s) are impressively executed and crisp. And like the new Apple Watch, you can set the display to be always on (though you'll only see the time, unlike the Apple Watch that inverts colors and keeps your complications).
