WebSphere Administrator - Contract - Irving, TX

Duration: 8-12 month contract or longer. 

Pay rate is open. 

 

Description:

 Applications Management has an immediate opening for a WebSphere Administrator. This position will be responsible for supporting the ongoing operations, management and advancement of the Neiman Marcus Direct applications.

 

Responsibilities:

• Strong WebSphere Administration hands on experience in an Enterprise environment under AIX, Unix, Clustered environment.
• Under general direction, devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems.
• Monitor production application and system execution for expected performance.
• Modifies, installs and prepares technical documentation for WAS.

Qualifications that are a MUST for the Job:

1. Hands-on experience using IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus. 
2. Five plus years’ experience managing the architecture and administration of WebSphere in a Unix AIX environment.
3. Experience WebSphere Message Broker (WMB), WebSphere Message Queuing (WMQ), and IBM Enterprise Service Bus architecture.
4. Five plus years’ experience with Unix AIX administration
5. Experience with  IBM WebSphere Portal 7 (ADDED on 7/13/12)
6. Five plus years’ experience with either Korn Shell or Perl scripting in a Unix/AIX environment.
7. Ability to effectively work in a team, providing technical leadership for small projects.
8. Strong communication skill with both technical and nontechnical individuals
9. Independent problem solving ability 
   Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent experience required

Additional note: 
This position will provide production support for critical applications and will require some after-hours and on-call work.
