Job Description:
The IBM WebSphere Commerce
developer is a key member of the eCommerce implementation team responsible for
implementing WebSphere Commerce Enterprise for Business to Consumer (B2C) and
Business to Business (B2B) sites. Responsibilities include design and
development of website in WebSphere Commerce Enterprise 7.0. The role
requires hands-on application development, application extensions, integration testing,
integration development and cutover activities.
What you need for this position!
- Experience with WebSphere
Commerce architecture
- Experience using WebSphere
Commerce development tools to customize WebSphere Commerce v7
- Experience with the data model
and programming model for WebSphere Commerce
- Experience with WebSphere
Commerce programming techniques and methods for extending the base
WebSphere Commerce functionality based on the best practices and
methodologies recommended by IBM
- Candidate must have demonstrated
hands-on skills in two or more of subsystems in WCS (ex: Order Management,
Catalog, Marketing, Merchandising, etc.)
- Candidate must have a strong
understanding of the WCS runtime framework, comfortable working with
Struts, experience developing front-end components, use of WCS tag
libraries, and comfortable developing WCS EJB, access and databeans
Ability to perform the
following development tasks:
- Install
and configure development tool
- Customize
store front
- Customize
underlying business logic
- Customize
administration tools
- Customize
payment plugins
- Implement
session management, access control and caching features
- Create and
load data
- Integrate
with external systems (using JDBC and MQ)
- Test,
troubleshoot and debug
- Package
and deploy customized code
Preferred Skills
- J2EE/Java development including JSP, JSTL,
Jababeans, EJBs
- SQL and relational database concepts
- IBM Rational Application Developer for
WebSphere Software
- XML and web technologies including AJAX, Web
Services
- Eclipse Plugins architecture and Rich Client
Platform (RCP)
- Basic knowledge of Windows Operating System
- Basic knowledge of WebSphere Application Server
Experience:
- 3+yrs WebSphere Commerce
development (REQUIRED)
- Hands on strong WebSphere
Commerce development experience (REQUIRED)
- WebSphere Commerce development v7
experience (REQUIRED)
- B2B and B2C store development
experience (REQUIRED)
- DB2 v9.7
- Experienced web developer, familiar with all
aspects of a B2B & B2C web development environments
- Experience with cross-browser development
- DHTML, JavaScript (2+years)
Additional Preferences:
- Direct Sales development experience a plus
- Design skills in addition to technical skills

- Designs, codes, and tests technical solutions
- Full life cycle application development
- Gather information from users to create
specifications and develop code for new and existing systems
- Follow Software Change Management guidelines
- File weekly report of Service Requests status
