Primary ownership: Pantheon/Composer/Git workflow, maintenance, and the build/deploy pipeline

Allocation: Full-time during build; tapering into maintenance

Role summary

Owns the team’s development workflow and operational backbone. This is a dedicated DevOps role focused on the hosting environment, deployment pipeline, and maintenance posture rather than Drupal feature development—well-defined, process-oriented work where a strong mid-level engineer is the right fit.

Key responsibilities

·       Own the Pantheon multidev workflow, Composer dependency management, and the Git branching strategy.

·       Maintain the build and deploy pipeline, ensuring reliable, repeatable deployments across environments.

·       Establish and run the ongoing maintenance posture: update cadence, security patching process, and documentation.

·       Support the senior developer by provisioning environments and running migrations through the deployment pipeline (operational support, not migration code).

·       Support the technical lead on performance work at the infrastructure and hosting layer.

·       Help document the platform and deployment process so it remains maintainable by the client after handoff.

Required skills & experience

·       8 years in a DevOps, build/release, or platform engineering role (Drupal development experience not required).

·       Hands-on experience with Pantheon (multidev), Composer, and Git-based workflows.

·       Experience with deployment automation, CI/CD, and environment management.

·       Solid grasp of platform maintenance and security update processes; familiarity with Drupal hosting/operations is a plus.

·       Detail-oriented and process-driven, with strong documentation habits.
