Creating choreographic work that is designed to engage and push audience members to redefine, question and explore. There are still spots left to tour
with CONTRA-TIEMPO to CUBA in 2008!
October 18th, 2008- November 1st, 2008
We are doing a 14 day professional development tour where we will be presenting our work in La Habana and Santigao and will be taking DAILY master classes with amazing Cuban Master artists in Rumba, Afro-Cuba Foklorico (Gaga, Macuta etc), Casino, Rueda and Salsa on the CONTRA-TIEMPO, Son and Cuban Contemporary Dance!
This is will be an LIFE ALTERING experience to be touring for 14 days straight with a rigorous schedule of training, dancing, traveling and building alliances with Cuban Artists! We are going legally though an organization called GLOBAL EXCHANGE http://www.globalexchange.org/ who will be securing a VISA for a handful of other PROFESSIONAL DANCE ARTISTS to go with us. We first opened the trip up only to old CT members, and now there are only TWO-THREE spots left on the trip - contact us IMMEDIATELY (email anama...@gmail.com) if you would like to go. The trip will cost $3400 (plus airfare to cancun) - this includes EVERYTHING - all travel, legal visas, hotel, two meals a day, master classes etc. A deposit of $500 is due by the end of May in order to secure your spot. In July an additional $500 will be due and then the remaining balance is due by the end of August. Thank you!

Alexandros, a hilarious human
comedy with a warm Latin heart by award-winning playwright Melinda Lopez that
runs May 27 - June 29, 2008 at Laguna Playhouse's Moulton Theater. The
production was commissioned by The Laguna Playhouse and
is
directed by David Ellenstein.
It's a birthday party
nobody will forget! In this engaging comedy, Abuela, the matriarch of a
Cuban-exile family living in Miami in 1974, is turning 75. Much-married Maritza
and her teenage daughter, Marty, have driven in from Texas. Live-at-home
single son, Tio, hopes everything will go smoothly. However, as the punch flows,
the sky turns stormy and Eric, the handsome gardener, arrives, the party
unravels. Meanwhile, Alexandros, Abuela's bad-tempered pooch, becomes the
catalyst for an emotional meltdown in which closet doors open, truths tumble out
and the bonds of family love are reasserted. Alexandros is by the author Sonia Flew, which was staged at The Laguna
Playhouse during the 2006-2007 season.
