Theroutine you describe of making backups and opening them has a strong potential to lead to trouble, because, while the program will directly open a standalone file, there is no synchronization process. The business referenced on the Businesses page has a different data file than the backup you are opening.

Backup & Sync is Google Drive on your computer, just like One Drive or all the others - all my files are synced to my Mac, Windows, and my Android Phone. If I add, remove or change any file (not just manager) it reflects on all devices.

Manager has two methods of opening a business, firstly opening the application and selecting from the home page, or secondly, opening the business directly by double clicking the file or right clicking the file and selecting open with Manager.

However, if they open the application and then import that same file it works without an issue. One user updates monthly so the change has occurred in the past month. It has occurred on both Mac and Windows and using files from both Google Drive and iCloud.

Separately, it is concerning that there is a number of users who are using back-up versions of their business files as their day to day business files. I use Manager via Dropbox on different computers and have NEVER opened a backup file yet.

After reading your post, @Brucanna, I think your interpretation of what @SheldonSwanepoel is doing is probably correct. So I did a test and can confirm that Manager no longer opens data files directly on a Mac. I tested with v20.2.26, so the bug was introduced with that version or earlier.

I can confirm this.

using 20.2.28 on windows.

The storage solution used does not matter, as i am using nextcloud which works exactly like google drive and dropbox as described earlier in this thread.

i just checked on my Windows 10 system running Manager 20.2.31

i have my Application Data folder and my backups folder both synced to GDrive. the .manager files do open but Manager wants to import it as a new business rather than showing the business data.

Thus, copies or backups of a business can be stored remotely, transmitted electronically, transported on portable media, and opened by accountants or coworkers who do not have access to your applications data folder. The business does not need to be imported into an application data folder.

I have the same problem as described by the users at the top.and this happened after updating to the new version 20.2.65. So is there any solution for this problem?? because I had to stop working on my business because of that bug.

Thank you in advance

No, you did not. Import the business from the backup file according to this Guide: But you should also be able to access the business directly from the businesses page within the program, unless you took deliberate steps to remove it or change the path of the application data folder.

me too. Only I updated to the most recent desktop, simply updated on a working and fucntional install. I cannot get any joy doing anything opening bus, removing bus. Nothing works. Looking to uninstall and repair.

I'm having trouble opening my Resource manager in VW 2022 SP2.1 on my Mac. It works fine on my Windows computer. I used a different workspace and the RM opened up, but the neither the shortcut key or the menu command wouldn't close/open it. I could only close it via the x button on the pallet and then I couldn't get it back open unless I switched workspaces.

Okay, I was able to fix it. I had to delete the RM, which actually was linked to a few other menu items. I then had to repopulate the RM into the menu, but it doesn't show up as RM in the Workspace editor but is part of the "Standard Pallets."

I upgraded my version of 2022 a day or two ago, which has been showing the Resource Manager just fine - until this morning. Now the resource manager has decided to go completely awol. How do I fix this? Not even sure how to delete and reinstate the RM.

When you finished creating a new Sheet Set in the SSM, it would then immediately open the new Sheet Set in the SSM. (a few seats of ACA 2012 were in use in the office) In ACA2011, it didn't do this. You had to browse for the newly created .dst file to open it. (I was using ACA 2011 at the same time as those others were using ACA 2012).

Ha! You know, I read the help entries for those variables. From what it reads (see below) it sounds like it only affects whether or not the associated sheet set would open when a drawing already in a sheet set is opened in AutoCad. So I didn't even bother messing with it. (my SSMAUTOOPEN was set to zero) However, that worked!

I have the same issue from time to time with different sheet sets. Both of my settings are set to 1, but I still have some sheet sets that do not open when one of the drawings in the set is opened. The sheet set does open with other sets when their respective drawings are opened. As an example, I was working with a set of drawings yesterday and the sheet set opened when I opened the first drawing. Today however, the very same set does not open when I open the drawing. Nothing changed as far as I know, so how does this happen? How do I re-associate the drawings and sheet set so that it opens automatically when the drawings are opened?

Prior to updating my settings would not open (I figured since I was on 5.10 and it was no longer supported). However even after the update this problem is persisting. Not only in my setting manager not opening (unless I use terminal), but KDE connect is also refusing to open.

Check your memory. You may have a faulty memory module or just the ECC settings disabled on your BIOS, according to the journal output provided. Look up on how to do a memtest for this. There are other threads around discussing that.

Check your system storage. Boot from Live media and make sure your system partitions are unmounted. Then run a filesystem check on them. For more information on how to do this, on a terminal check out the manual pages for lsblk and fsck :

Perhaps you used a second monitor before, and now the missing window is opening off-screen. Connect back the second monitor if it is possible.

You can also try this:

Close then Restart SketchUp.

If you open your policy manager and click open. You should be able to go in there and open an existing saved configuration for your old box. This will not be the actual config, simply an open config file. If you go in there, change the feature keys and resave it. It will then be the old config with the new serial number. You will have to verify all ports are the same on your old box and new box. When the config looks like its good for the new machine, you should be able to than save that config to your NEW firebox. Since it has the new firebox feature key, it should work just fine.

Download the latest version of WSM (11.11) and install it on a second computer. Can this one open the config from your M300? If this works, upgrade the first PC with the new version of WSM. Possibly uninstall WSM before that, to start with a clean install.

From my workstation I successfully connected, with System Manager, and opened the Policy Manger for each firewall. It was 8 firewalls in total of various models and firmwares. Had no issues with 11.10.5 on those that had it.

Hey @sophie357 - Was just about to respond with a possible fix then noticed that you worked it out with our support team! Glad they were able to help you out. If you need anything in the future regarding WatchGuard, feel free to reach out to me

I have tried to open this project and update the version to the more recent one as I intend to update it on the PC next time I use it, but for some reason an error shows whenever I try to open this project in the new version on my Mac or try to open any project at all on there, for that matter.

It seems that you have a failed installation on Mac, the UnityPackageManager should be present. Other users have reported the same issue on Mac ( **READ ME FIRST** Troubleshooting connection/loading project issues with Package Manager - #5 by Sommer )

Did you happen to quit the hub while the editor was installing? (Not while downloading, while installing). Or is it possible that you have an antivirus that quarantined and moved the file from its original location?

Thanks. The tube and mount are brand new, so odds are they won't need an update. But I was so looking forward to plugging it all in and checking for updates. I love stuff like that WHEN IT WORKS but get very irritated and sad when it doesn't. It just drives me nuts not knowing why I (and others) can't make jar files executable. My instinct is is it may be something to do a matrix between the security software and Java. Security software / anti vrus issues might accaount for why some Windows 10 peeps have this problem and others don't.

Have you tried right clicking on the .jar file and choosing 'open with'? You then need to choose the java platform binary (java.exe), which if it doesn't show can be found in c:\program files(x86)\java\jre1.?????\bin (where??? is whatever version of java you have installed. This is the 32bit version of java - if you have a 64 bit version installed you will find it in c\Program Files\java\jre1?????\bin
