Hello all,

Ive just started reading this so far excellent tome, and have come across a recommendation towards Chris Read's ESCape tool as an OS manager of configuration data.

Looking deeper into ESCape however the project seems to be dormant. The latest word I can find from Chris on this suggests that there are a bunch of implementational reasons why it hasnt moved forward or been replaced by its original authors.

With that in mind is ESCAPE still the place to look for an OS solution for this kind of thing, or is there something more current?

Cheers,
Ross
