Youshould be able to import it if you enable the new importer in the preferences screen, though the duplicate card template will still need removing, and ideally the deck author will fix the problem and re-share.
I agree with you, that it is ideal when the original deck author properly designs the deck to not include duplicate card types. But sometimes deck authors just vanish and cannot be reached. In this case, being able to import a deck with the new importer and making the necessary changes yourself is the next best option.
Thank you! That was very helpful! It now works but there is another problem. When I try to study, I get the front card no problem. However, when I ask for the answer, I get the following instead of the answer.

I've set up a lovely template card, so lovely in fact that I want all new cards created on this board to use this template. Is that possible? I haven't been able to find a way how. I suspect it may be a feature in a higher-tier of Trello than I have (the free tier).
I wonder if anyone has any ideas. One of my customers has just started creating Item card templates and he can save them and view the Item card template list. But as soon as he goes to create a new item card the template list doesn't appear. It just opens up a blank item card page.
Tested on the Cronus company on their instance and it works perfectly using the exact same credentials. So compared the inventory setup screen and checked permissions are exactly the same. But I'm stuck as to now what I am going differently.
Thank you that worked perfectly, it was because they had ticked the manual no's and not the defaults and that is why it wasn't automatically giving you the item template automatically. Customer said that was fine and then would add the item no and the description and apply the template.
If the Inventory Setup Page doesn't have an item number series, or if this number series doesn't have the Default Nos. set to true, the templates will not appear automatically when creating a new item.
Have the customer used Configuration Template or Item Template? If the customer have created one Item Template it will be used by default when creating a new Item. But if the customer have created two or more he should get the list to choose from. This does not work with Configuration Templates so please make sure the customer uses Item Templates.
I am creating a template board with some template cards but I cannot seem to move them to other boards as any template is just local to the board. I'd love more support for sharing stuff between boards instead of having to re-create stuff within each board. Sometimes I make a long list in one card then I realize it would be nice to have in some of my other boards but there is no way to move those over without re-creating them from scratch which is quite tedious.
You should be able to Move as well as Copy Template Cards to another board.
If Moved, they remain a Template card, even on the target board.
if Copied, the copied card is just a regular card now.
You can Move/Copy in two ways:
1) On the Board page, if you click on the pencil on the top-right of the card front, there should be both a Move and Copy button. And you can choose which board it or its copy gets sent to.
2) You should also have access to the Move/Copy buttons in the Card itself, on the buttons to the right under Actions.
If none of these buttons are accessible, or one or the other steps are missing. Try opening the board in a different browser or in incognito mode. On the off chance that an extension or adblocker is disabling a button? Although this is of a lower probability.
Following up on this question again. I am attempting to do the same thing, copying or moving a Template card from one board to another board on the same Workspace, and the copy/move method is not working properly. I create/edit the template, and set it as a "template card" by checking the Template box under the "Actions" section, then copy or move, and several of the recently made changes are not included in the template card on the board it was moved or copied to. I submitted a support request, and have not heard anything back yet. Trying to get ahead of this problem, as I have 30+ boards to update and they all need the same ticket. Thanks in advance!
I tried setting it up for myself - using the 3/16" margin and 1/8" bleed for the 3.5 x 2 US Business Card. But I then attempted to export that, and it apparently isn't obeying the same rules as the template I was using - it's cutting off the parts I can actually see - as opposed to what I imagine to be the "bleed box" - the part covered in black that Affinity snaps to as the outer "bleed" area?
Again, I am SO GRATEFUL for the templates that do exist - I understand them and I can work with them. But they're alway in millimeters, and... again with the United States and our stupid, hateful backwards inches?
Just REALLY hoping that - instead - someone can point me to where the US Business Card template already exists - or, if one doesn't exist, possibly create one that behaves in the same manner as the one provided by Affinity - where the outer edges are covered in black, but Affinity knows where those boundaries are and properly snaps to them - and then there's the part I can see, where I know there's the area near the edge that might not print, depending on the "cut" or whatever at the print shop?
Perhaps @CrashX was referring to the New Document preset, simply called "Business Card"? It appears near the end of both the Print and the Press Ready groups so, depending on how large you've set the New Documents window, you may have to scroll a bit to see it.
I was definitely just exploring, and whatever Affinity provided - I would have obviously used. I wasn't even aware of the various countries daring to differ, much less that the US wouldn't be the default
But whatever it is provides a window of what might actually be printed, surrounded by black - but with invisible guides that Affinity snaps to for the "bleed". For example - you can download a photo from Unsplash, toss it in there, then resize that photo to snap to those guides - and you're assured that the "bleed" is then covered? Part of it's hidden by the black - but it's obviously still there - 'cuz you see it when you export the version with the bleed.
And you're then left with a window, where you can design your card - with the understanding that anything close to the edge is possible to get lost in the cutting process. I sadly do not know what that area is called, but it's odd that Affinity doesn't have a dotted line or whatever representing that "unsafe" area?
Again, I've tried creating the "template" myself - entering all of the information correctly - 3.5 x 2, 1/8" bleed, 3/16" margin. The guy at the print shop was even kind enough to provide me an .ai template.
BUT - it doesn't obey whichever possibly imaginary rules I was following with the Affinity template? When I export with no bleed, it just cuts into the window of what I can see? And I have no idea why it's doing that - so no clue how to fix it?
I liked the bit with the black part that was no man's bleed land - I'd have preferred the hint with a dashed line but there was of course none to indicate possibly unsafe areas? But I could at least guesstimate - designing safely within the window, being careful not to get too close to the edges.
Guessing I'm just doing something VERY wrong - because, formerly with the built-in template, it certainly seemed LOGICAL. Now... I have no clue what it's doing or why? So... LOGICAL - and then I apparently need 4 years of design school? I preferred the LOGICAL approach?
I preferred it how it was before? The viewable area is what will print, with the margins possibly being cut off - with the "bleed" area hidden, but Affinity "snaps" to it for proper placement of "background" images?
With the bleed being hidden, that was kinda weird - BUT at least I knew the boundaries - now it's just all goofy? And, even if I create a rectangle to represent the 3.5" x 2" area - I don't think Affinity will naturally snap to it, like it does with its own templates and the bleed being "out" of my visible design area?
