Have you tried other default passwords such as admin, 123456, 111111, 000000, password, letmein these are all common default passwords. Also H.264 is not a DVR model, rather H.264 is a video compression algorithm, not sure how it came to be systems were awarded the name of H.264, does it have any serial numbers or anything on it?

My LTE wifi router got taken out by lighting and my DVR was set to fix IP address(DCHP not enabled). I can't access my DVR to change the settings for my new LTE wifi Router as I can't remember my password. I've tried almost all of the default passwords on this forum, but no joy. Only thing I can't do is remote viewing with this current problem. I was able to connect my old router directly to my MAC(using the IP address) and was able to access my DVR and managed to get the device info as attached. Can anyone assist please?

1. Use the DVR factory default password2. Use a DVR password generator 3. Update the firmware and reset the DVR4. Reset the DVR by removing the battery5. DVR physical reset with jumpers6. Delete the password file by using telnet

If your DVR has the internal chip manufactured by Hisilicon, there is a great chance that the DVR password generator will work, depending on the model and year it was manufactured. See the chart below:

There are cases where the DVR has an unknown brand, this happens a lot with Chinese models that are manufactured without a brand and sold to third parties that use a name like H.264 DVR for example.

Important: The fact that your DVR is named as H.264 DVR or something similar does not guarantee that the software will work, as explained above, this is a generic name given by the distributor who purchased an unbranded Chinese DVR to resell to the customers.

There is also an Excel spreadsheet that can generate passwords for DVRs, it works the same way, just put the current date and look at the result in the yellow cell, it works only for dates after the year 2000.

The manufacturer provides firmware so that customers can update the equipment for better security and new features, in most cases these updates do not delete the existing password nor reset the DVR, however in specific rare cases the firmware update can reset to the factory default.

If the manufacturer has this option available, you can download a file from a website and put it on a pen drive that should be connected to the DVR, after restart the equipment it will read the contents of the pen drive, update the firmware and reset the password to factory default.

What happens is that the DVR runs out of battery for a while and goes back to the factory default date, such as 1/1/2000 for example, so you can use the DVR password generator to create a new passwords based on this date.

For this type of reset it is necessary to open the equipment and physically close the contacts of two specific pins. That work for some Swann DVR models that have some jumpers for DVR reset.

1. With tweezers close the contact between the pins2. Turn on the DVR and wait until you hear a beep.3. Remove the tweezers while the DVR is still on4. Wait until the DVR restarts5. Use the admin/username and password to log in

This process works with DVRs that have a chip manufactured by a Chinese company that accepts a Telnet connection with a standard XC3511 password. Some models known to have this chip are the H264 DVRs:

If your DVR has the login screen like this below, it indicates that it uses this type of chip that accepts the connection via telnet, no matter if the brand is, the internal chip is from the same manufacturer.

Since this command window will be able to communicate with the DVR, it will respond by asking for username and password and then after entering this information, you will have access to the operating system and will be able to view the files in the directories and folders and also remove them.

Thanx for the password generator, it worked on my conceptronic, however there is a tab system login > system info
with a few tabs like audio in, alarm in, remote control, enable rs232, a few other options and below that a box checked maintenance functions. this one is checked. Thats locked the dvr functions. it needs a different password.

DVR reset using telnet
Way working well .. Thank you so much giving this valuable Idea.. and I so little mistake there is no write down by text, change directory (cd Config) part.. But It Have On the Dos Command Image.. So Its Happy to sow that. so my dvr remove all unknown Password. now I can log to my DVR.

Take a look at the table below with the DVR default password for different manufacturers. Perhaps your DVR is listed there (the empty space on the password means you need to leave the password box empty). Also, you can find more default passwords on this link.

Many CCTV manufacturers provide master password generators to allow administrators access to their CCTV products. Usually, they use the current date of the security system in order to generate a super password. Others may use the serial number of the equipment.

The date is used by the password generators to create a unique super password. So, take a look at the monitor and note the timestamp (as shown below).
Note: DVR master password generators will work only with specific DVR models.

In many cases, the DVR has an unknown brand. This is a common thing since many Chinese manufacturers sell their DVRs or cameras to third-party companies which they resell under local not-so-known brands or simply as H.264 DVR.

It works the same way as the previous methods, you need to enter the date and the tool will generate a master password. Click here to download the Excel H.264 DVR password generator.

A few H.264 DVRs can be reset by another technique: removing the battery from the motherboard. By doing that, the clock of the system will be reset and the DVR will go back to factory defaults and you can log in by using the default username and password.

In order to perform this kind of reset, you need to open up the cover of your DVR and find the reset pins on the motherboard. The H.264 DVRs that have these pins are for example old Dahua DVRs, old TVT DVRs, Swann DVR models, etc.

An example is shown below can be reset by closing the two contacts (pins) for 3 minutes. Once you close the circuit (via the jumper), the H.264 DVR will automatically reboot and come back online without any password or just using the default one. Try to log in.
