I've read about it online and tried contacting the support but got no real solution back so far. I tried deactivating windows Defender (both virus scanning and firewall) and I haven't got any other anti-virus software installed.
I run Windows 11 for Arm through Parallels 17 on an M1pro MacBook Pro 2021. I have seen multiple people with a similar set-up running Revit successfully without any problems during the installation process.
I tried countless ways and finally did it by moving all the download files from the Macs default download folder (This PC\Downloads) to the Download folder on my C: Drive from the windows machine (C:\Users\USERNAME\Downloads) as well as turning off everything I could in the microsoft defender and waiting half a minute or so after opening the revit file.
Thanks a lot. I did have the same problem trying to start the installation from This PC\Downloads. I moved the downloads to C:\Users\USERNAME\Downloads and it worked out. Didn't have any problem with the Microsoft defenders.
I have uninstalled some Autodesk programs from my control panel but I have no idea if they are peripheral to Revit 2020. Do I uninstall any file that has Autodesk in the name ?? I have Autocad and don't want to mess it up.
As for the " remove any remaining peripheral files related to the product your're installing" c:\ Program Files\Autodesk, etc., I can only make a guess based on the "last modified date" and all the Autodesk files state Sept 2018. Therefore I assume they have nothing to do with my present problems trying to download Revit 2020.
Any browser should work. There should be 7 parts only, sounds like your browser is downloading them multiple times for whatever reason. If they downloaded ok, just keep the parts 001-007 and delete the duplicates and run the first part (001) only to get them all extracted onto your C drive and when done it will prompt you to install.
Revit will not install. I am using Microsoft edge browser to download it then when I go to install it, it either pauses or fails to install. My computer is a new surface book so I know it can install it and I have plenty of storage. Please help.
i installed earlier ,then uninstalled because material browser won't pop up, and i thought it was due to installation, i cleared everything revit and autodesk from apps and features, appdata, program data and registry keys.
Our office just upgraded to Revit/ACAD 2019. We have four computers in our office. AutoCAD installed fine on all four. Revit installed on 3; however, my computer continues to fail an indicates a Microsoft Visual c++ issue. I have attached the log. Can you help and let me know what needs to be done? We are new to Revit, and need to get it installed before our training is to start.
Although you were probably unaware of this, but when you post or share stuff here, please make sure it doesn't include your personal information such as your serial #. This is a world wide user forum and that type of info should not be included in your posting. Granted the installation log file helped us to determine your root cause (but it did contain your serial #)... So in the future remove or blur it out before posting. I will have the moderator remove it in order to protect your information.
I would recommend that you start here -explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-remove-and-reinstall-Microsoft-Visual-C-Runtime-Libraries.html and don't use the web installer to install your product.
There's a couple of ways to properly download and install your Autodesk product to your machine. Please review this article and the solution it provides. If the installation does fail using the preferred methods, please post your installation log file here so we can review it again
I followed the steps to replace the Microsoft Files. I tried the online install and the download install. Everything is still failing. It takes about 30-seconds for it to fail. I have no idea where my serial number is in this log. What is the safest way to get it to you? What do I do? Again, AutoCAD has installed fine. We have four computers that are essentially identical. Revit installed on three just fine, but will not install on mine.
Make sure not programs are running except the operating system. Remove all C++ info from Windows Control Panel/Program and Features. Start the revit installation again by selecting the setup.exe located in the extracted location of the Revit media. Also make sure WIndows UAC (User Access Control) is set to not notify and if possible disable your anti-virus.
I will also ping @TravisNave for his input (meaning bringing out the heavy guns at this point) after he reviews your latest log file. Outside of this.. The only other item I can think of, is to try is to modify the installation setup.ini and bypass the offending C++ info. -licensing/install-net-framework-language-pack-failed-installation-aborted/m-p/3873491
Where I work we only have up to 2019. So I went to the Autodesk site and only option It gives me is to download the exe install file. I essentially just want to use the trial version on my computer to check out the new features.
I have been facing the same problem. I've been trying to install the student version of Revit 2020, and that installation process has been stuck at the same position for several hours. I don't know what to do. I Have attempted this installation on Dec 26, 2019.
Posting info: Sometimes the installation log file contains the serial # that was assigned to you. Open your log file using Windows Notepad and perform a search on "/SN". Depending on the number of installation attempts, your serial # may be located throughout the log file. If present, remove or "X" out your serial # prior to posting.
Hi! I want help as I tried installing revit 2020 many times. I am using the Download now method. As for the installation log, I have this line regarding Microsoft Visual C++ that states ignore rollback.
I can not seem to get Revit 2021 to install. Have tried everything I can find for fixes/solutions and still it errors out with a 1603 every time at about 4%. Anyone have this problem or know any obscure tips or tricks? Have tried everything from emptying %TEMP% folder, registry edits, clean uninstall of all previous versions of Revit and associated add-ons, desktop app install, install via autodesk accounts install now, browser download, and the other option, a few other things... Even tried washing the magical crystal rock my wife gave me for computer issues... Thought that would for sure work but still nothing
We are an organization of about 20 users. Most have had no troubles with the update, but there are 4 of us (so far) having the same issue? After wiping out Revit 2019 and 2020 I was able to reinstall 2020 with no problem but no go with 2021
Actually just got it to install! Not sure why, maybe has/had something to do with folder permissions as questioned above. It shouldn't though and have never had an issue like that before... logged in/on my machine with our IT managers credentials and it installed just fine. Even he is a bit confused as to why that did the trick being we all should have the same admin rights... It was a non issue for most of our organization except a few. Anyway that seemed to have done the trick.
Thank you for confirming that you now have Revit 2021 installed. Keep in mind that the Revit 2021 installation includes .NET 4.8 and Microsoft VC runtimes, without seeing your log files, which may have been failing under your specific permissions level.
I want to reinstall my revit 2021 and I can't perform full uninstall because my Revit 2021 won't apper in Windows Control Panel -> Uninstall Program. I am looking forward for anwsers how to solve this problem as I need to complete my uni project.
Hi your question is very welcome and i feel sorry for your struggle , your description is not so clear but i will give you some tips hopefully you check it and can help you and i hope i understand what you need exactly:
The problem I have is that when I open the "add or remove program" I can't find Revit 2021 on the list or anything with Revit in it's name even though Revit 2021 is installed. I triple checked the list to be sure. My Revit is installed on other drive then the system one so maybe thats what causes the problem, but on the other hand I have never had such issue with any of the autodesk apps which are installed on other drive then the system one.
If you go to the Autodesk folder in the start menu/ type Uninstall Tool, you can then launch the Autodesk Uninstall Tool, if Revit is visible you can reinstall, otherwise, download the installer from and repair/reinstall.
Same issue here, I have Revit installed but I can't seem to find it in the uninstall list. I tried finding the uninstall tool but for some reason its not working anymore, that was the best option for uninstalling for me, please bring it back. Also how do I uninstall revit at this point? since there has been an error on in and i need to reinstall it. thank you
The BIMcollab BCF Managers are plugins available for all popular BIM tools, including Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Revit and many more. Connected to BIMcollab Nexus, they form an effective way to manage issues and improving the BIM workflow.
All issues can contain viewpoints with camera positions and relevant objects. This allows you to zoom-in on the issue location, highlighting the problematic components. Additionally, meta data such as issue descriptions, status, comments, assignees, responsibilities, approval data, and more, is also to the issues. Moreover, BIMcollab Nexus allows you to append area information, milestones, and deadlines as well as implement a formal approval process.
