This announcement for a contract UI writer was sent to me by a recruiter, but I am not available. It's with Expedia (Hotwire division).
From what I've heard, employees like working there. The job is located in San Francisco.
Job Description:
The UI Writer is responsible for overseeing content requirements and providing copy deliverables (instructional copy, field labels, help copy, error messages, and the occasional branding message) across the project lifecycle. Collaborating closely with the Interaction Designer and the Visual Designer, as well as people from our Functional Design and Creative Services groups, you will be critical to defining the copy on our web site.
Responsibilities:
* Develop content strategy based on business objectives and user needs
* Work with design and development team to translate requirements and business goals into messaging, site navigation, labels and content organization on the user interface.
* Write information deliverables (instructional copy, error messages, interface copy, help copy) relevant to each project.
* Work with Marketing and Creative Services to meet the editorial tone, style and voice of all content.
* Work with legal team to make sure site copy is reviewed and approved.
* Review the QA environment and work with QA team to resolve bugs related to incorrectly implemented copy.
* Work within and continue to develop the style guide and editorial procedures.
* Ensure content conforms to Search Engine Optimization best practices
Must Have:
* 2+ years of experience as an UI Writer / Content Writer
* Experience in Web content/ Digital media content
* Experience in developing content strategy
* Experience with instructional copy, error messages, interface copy, help copy
* Degree in English, journalism, technical writing
Nice To Have:
* Ecommerce or Travel experience
