Hi everybody,
I'm also interested in CCN. I think V. Jacobson and his partners
propose an interesting new approach that goes in the right direction
to fulfill the requirements for nowadays and future use of the
Internet. However, I am not yet convinced because some questions
remains without answer. I did not study CCN in details yet, but the
following questions are currently stirring up my mind:
1. Can everything be considered as “content”? How to communicate
with a particular host (e.g. for SSH) ?
2. What the unified name space would look like?
3. What about configuration and management of CCN devices (routing
policies) ?
4. How to know what are different locations for a content and
master this?
5. How to ensure that copies of a content are up-to-date?
6. How to know the name of a content? Has it already been
published? If not, the theory says that the content can be created on
demand, but where to ask for it?
7. Can the same content be referenced with different names? If yes,
how to mention the equivalence?
If you have some answers to any of these, I would be very pleased to
discuss with you about it!
Thanks!
