Justin and All,
I was really pushing for "Little Women", not "Little House on the Prarie". But I really do like some of yours better.
I'd do any of the following from your list:
3. "Strangers Have the Best Candy"
5. "You are Different and That's Bad"
8. "Pop Goes the Hampster, and other Great Microwave Games"
11. "How to Become the Dominant Military Power in Your Elementary
School"
Those seem to have the most interest to me, Unfortunately, the group chose "To the Moon, Alice!" By Jackie Gleason. No no, that's not it... It was "From the Earth to the Moon" by Jules Verne, with a side note to eventually read "The Man in the Picture" by Susan Hill. It is only in hardback right now, but I've ordered a copy from B&N. It was only $15.00. The premise of the story (as Scott told it) sounds like a very cool old-school ghost story. I was intrigued. It's on my goodreads list if you want to check it out.

Subject: (literary club) WHAT IS THE NEW BOOK?
Date: Mon, 2 Feb 2009 11:28:39 -0800 (PST)
Hello everyone,
Sorry for having to get off the call early on Saturday. I enjoyed the
hour of discussion we had prior to my departure, however.
Please let me know what book was chosen for February so that I can get
started! The way I remember it, Boyd was pushing hard for Little
House on the Prairie. Scott was hoping for a Harlequin Romance that
he recently finished, Mike Porter was in the fight for a nice little
book of pro-capitalist poetry authored by President: Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad and Dave, I believe, was suggesting his favorite
children's book....the children's pop-up book of human anatomy. I'm
good on any of those...however, I have a few suggestions of my own...
(in the children's book genre):
1. "Kathy was so bad her mom stopped loving her"
2. "Garfield gets Feline Leukemia"
3. "Strangers Have the Best Candy"
4. "Babar Meets the Taxidermist"
5. "You are Different and That's Bad"
6. "Daddy Drinks Because You Cry"
7. "The Man in the Moon is Actually Satan"
8. "Pop Goes the Hampster, and other Great Microwave Games"
9. "How to Make a Plastic Bag Space Helmet"
10. "Fun Four Letter Words to Learn and Share"
11. "How to Become the Dominant Military Power in Your Elementary
School"
12. "Dad's New Wife Timothy"
13. "The Boy Who Died by Eating All His Vegetables"
14. "Hammers, Screwdrivers and Scissors: An I CAN DO IT Book"
15. "Timmy's the Wrong Color to Be Your Friend"
16. "Little Hands, Big Toasters"
17. "Mommy's Got a New Baby to Love"
18. "All Dogs Go To Hell"
19. "Pat Went Splat: Don't Forget Your Seatbelt"
20. "Fatherhood: A Guide for the Adolescent"
