Softening the Underside - a performance practice of caves, diaphragms, tenderness, and domiciles.
Shannon will lead a warm up to feeling for and moving from the domed spaces in the body. Awakening sensation, mobility and power in these areas the class develops into forms of connection and relationship with the space, sound and other dancers. The performance practice finds virtuosity within the tender precarity of curves and proposes an offering to share the spaces in which we reside in for a while. The class is accompanied by Shannon's partner Steve Surgalski. The two have been collaborating and making dance and music studies for 20 years.
