Class description: In this class series we’ll explore the quality of falling into movement, working with the floor as our primary partner, and becoming an extension of the floor as we meet other bodies in space. We’ll dissect the action of falling into speed, size, and direction. What is the opposite of falling? How can I extend these moments of pause/rest inside a dance? How do I maintain my dance when I dance with another person? How does giving and taking weight transform me? What is the muscular tone of communication through weight? How do I adjust my tone to communicate more effectively with different bodies, each one a different landscape with a slightly different movement language?
Each class will begin with some structured exercises and lead into a jam. All levels of experience are welcome!
