Hi friends,

Highly recommend this upcoming weekend workshop with Alicia Grayson in late April. A few of us from Philly are planning to attend. Please reach out if you’d like to coordinate rides or housing.

Cheers,

Fluid Architecture

This workshop focuses on dynamic yet easeful, whole-body awareness as we dance in contact improvisation. We begin with exploring our solo dance and how we can fluidly move our skeletal architecture in three-dimensional space. From there we move into contact with a focus on the moment-to-moment organizing of our skeleton in relationship with our partner’s. From this foundation we will explore effortless transitions in and out of the floor as well as dynamic support for flying. We will include playing with modulating tone and tempo to enhance more flow in communication and nuanced expression.

Alicia Grayson has been passionately involved with dancing, teaching and performing Contact Improvisation for the past 36 years. She has taught CI as adjunct faculty at several universities and regularly teaches nationally and internationally, including CI classes in Boulder CO. As a mover and somatic psychotherapist she facilitates somatically based transformational workshops and works with individuals. She delights in exploring new depths to CI and related disciplines and is particularly interested in the intersection of physics and expression and the mind/body relationship. www.aliciagrayson.com
