Drawing from somatic practices rooted in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies, Sharon will invite participants on a journey towards opening possibilities both within and all around us. Explore how innate, developmental connections through the gentle floor exercises of Bartenieff Fundamentals can ground our sense of self while enlivening our CI experiences. Embrace exertion/recuperation dynamics to nurture our resiliency, starting from personal everyday movements into duet weight sharing, pushing, pulling, balancing, waiting and pausing. This research lab invites the practice of presence as a verb through curiosity and play, and supports gentle edges of risk and experimentation.
All levels of experience are welcome.
