I've been using Illustrator for a long time (decades), but have something that I've never been able to figure out and need an option. How do you hide the overset text icon (red plus box), and/or anything that is an on-screen, in-app visual cue? I've tried looking it up online and all I can find is explanation of what it is. I know what it is and why it's there, but if I want to hide it so that I can take a screenshot for a proof, etc., I've found nothing. Only way would be to do the screen shot - take it into photoshop, remove the OTI, and then it's good - but that's a cumbersome extra step. I feel like there has got to be somethign that does this. I find it hard to believe that there is no way in an app this size to show a preview, unencumbered by monitor cues. It seems to me that it should be in Type>Show/Hide Hidden Characters, but nope - that doesn't do it. Does anyone know where/how I can do this?
When you get back to the text box in you doc, it will be blue...Use the Type cursor to select the area with below your text, and delete. When you check off the box with the arrow select tool, the red box, (and/or white box at the beginning), will be gone.
Hi, This is a bit late but I just ran into the same issue. The red plus box means you have overflowing text in the box. i.e. text that isnt visible. To remove this place you Text cursor at the last visible character and then clear (delete) all the text to the right. Once there's no overflow there will be no red box.
The above is true within a text/plain editor but can vary in a GUI editor such as LO-Writer. That is because the copy process often puts much more than just text/plain text into the Clipboard. It can also add a whole menagerie of other MIME artists (such as text/rtf, and so on). Those can be accessed individually by using Paste Special..., though the options then available depend both on how they were first placed within the Clipboard plus the compatibility of LO-Writer with the OS.

TLatex allows to draw math formulae on screen . It has the LaTeX syntax.
The text on the terminal is not at all the same, you cannot have math formulae there.
Each character is defined by its code. You can do the opposite using TMathText (available also via TLatex) ie: use special characters on graphics rendering.

I'm currently trying the Plus plan in order to substitute my Evernote account. One of the needed features is the "full-text-search" and as stated in dropbox webpage: "If you're a Dropbox Plus, Professional, or Business user, you have access to a feature called full-text search, which can find files by file name, extension, or keyword within the file."
Firstly, can you let me know if you're possibly searching for text in another language other than English? This feature is only available in certain languages, so if you're not seeing results from within file content then it isn't yet available in that language.
Also, can you let me know if the .pdf files that you're trying to search are created by scanning the file (ie. is an image of the document)? Searching text within images is currently available on Dropbox Professional and Business plans.
