problem: I hired Riverside Car Care, Riverside, Illinois to do replace a broken timing chain, during the first week of December 2012. The vehicle was in Riverside Car Care possession for approximately two weeks and upon getting it back, I had to return it the very next day. I got it back a few days later; it ran a few days and then had to go back again for two days. I got it back and then noticed the windows were fogging up. Mind you this was not a problem prior to the engine work being done. I spent $ 4,500 dollars. I took it back again and was told by the owner, David that it was the windshield sealant that was not tight. We had the insurance company come out and take a look and replace the sealant. Mind you this was never a problem either prior to them working on the vehicle. After the re-seal of the windshield, the windows continued to fog up, so we take it back again. This time they tell us it’s the heater coil. Now, all of a sudden it’s the heater coil. But we were told at first, it was the windshield!
Unfortunately, I had it fixed and was charged another $1,000 dollars for that job. After I got the vehicle back its performance has never been great and we’ve been smelling oil ever since. I was were told the oil smell was due to the parts all being new and it would eventually subside.
As of March 28th I noticed the vehicle started hissing and missing and on April 1st while on the highway the service engine light came on and the gauge started going towards the hot zone! This vehicle has gone back to this mechanic FOUR times! Each time there is something else wrong and another job and fee is required. It has not been quite three months and this vehicle’s performance now is worse than when we brought it in to this shop.
I do NOT want them doing any additional repairs to the vehicle … I just want them to refund back the money we gave them for a job they did not do. Obviously, Riverside Car Care does not have qualified mechanics and are ripping people off. If this was a legitimate business, I should not have had to return my vehicle four times and now it needs to go back to the shop again! Also, this is the real kicker, my blue tooth disappeared which reveals they are not trustworthy.
