Hello,

If this requirement is a match please send MS word formatted resume, terms and contact details to sha...@infoyogi.com  (shashi"at"infoyogi"dot"com)

We have a requirement for JDE expertise in functional and technical development area. Here are the details from the customer:

•           We seek a very experienced functional JDE consultant (Distribution / order to cash)

•           For a major pan European DC with 24*5 operation, within a multi company multi currency JDE 8.12 instance

•           Currently managing 27,000 items, with around 10% having active lot grades

•           The assignment is to advise and drive direction, enabling the organization to resolve a problem in a busy production environment

•           The issue lies in the system inventory availability calculation used to commit sales orders, when lot grades are in active use

•           It is recognized in knowledge garden document : Severity 3 SR 3-8122326741 : JDE 8.12 Incorrect Availability for Lot Graded Products

•           Workarounds have widespread implication to apply in a live environment.

•           The direction given, and the solution proposed, must be practical with a pragmatic and supportable implementation path.

Issue:

Currently the Bug 11708841- P4210 BACKORDERS QTY FOR ITEM LOT GRADE WHEN QTY AVAILABLE is considered as Enhancement. The system is working as designed however there is a design flaw in availability checking for a grade controlled item scenario. A redesign is required to handle this scenario but there is no planned date for the fix of the above Enhancement Bug 11708841

Here is the workaround as suggested by Oracle Support and needs to be implemented by the Consultant:

In order for JD Edwards to provide accurate availability checking by grade, a new database table would need to be added to Enterprise One.

1) Currently, the soft committed quantity is stored on the item primary location record in the Item Balance (F41021) table.

2) The primary location record contains one quantity soft committed.

3) A new relational database table would need to be created with join relationship to the primary location record in the Item Balance (F41021) table.

4) The new table could have one record per grade for storing the soft commit quantity by grade.

5) The availability checking business function(s) that currently check the item primary location record in the Item Balance (F41021) table for the soft commit quantity would need to be modified to check for soft commitments by grade in this new table.

6) The inventory commitments business function(s) that currently update the item primary location record in the Item Balance (F41021) table would need to be modified to update the soft commitments by grade in this new table.

7) Since availability checking and inventory commitments are used by many programs, there could be retrofit modifications required in many related programs such as:

-- Sales Order Master Business Functions

-- Sales Order Entry Event Base Code

-- Pick Slip Base Code

-- Pick Slip Inventory Commitment Business Function

-- Ship Confirm Base Code

-- Ship Confirm Business Functions

-- Sales Repost Base Code and Business Functions

-- Backorder Release Base Code and Business Functions

Even if the changes could be made without having to modify the programs listed above, extensive testing would be required to make sure the changes would not break anything in these programs. Because of the magnitude of this change, JD Edwards cannot implement such changes in existing production releases like 9.0 or 9.1.

Looking forward to work with you.
