We are currently looking to fill a contractor mid-level systems administrator position. The candidate will be primarily responsible for addressing an IT day-to-day support caseload within a mixed Linux and Windows environment in a professional manner. Caseload demands will vary based upon customer needs and will require the candidate to provide desktop and server support. Additional Compute Farm support may be requested from the candidate, i.e. provisioning new systems, reimaging existing systems, as needed. Support experience in an engineering environment is strongly desired. Effective management of customer relationships with clear communication skills to engineering staff and management at all levels is also required.

· This position requires Linux (RHEL 4 and above) and Windows (Win 7/XP) knowledge

· Experience in a mid-size enterprise environment with the capability of multi-tasking with several different support needs is a must

· Strong technical background combined with strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate to technical and non-technical end users is also required

· Understanding of networking services (nfs,rsh, ldapetc) and basic networking concepts (tcp/ip) are required

· VMware virtualization knowledge is desired.
