Hi Team,

Art, Michael and I were able to talk briefly with his contact, Amanda, at the Harvard law clinic last week and she has connected us with a law student, Lauren, who can work with us to help determine where to incorporate (and how). It's an amazing resource!

I proposed talking with Lauren on Friday the 20th at 11am EDT. Can you join us for a conference call then as well? I hope so! If not, I'll of course keep you closely informed of our discussion.

Lauren could help us with one of two things:
1. Identify which state to incorporate in (what are the pros and cons, what are the requirements of Virginia, DE, California, etc and how do they compare). OR,
2. If we choose to incorporate in DE, they can assist us with all the paperwork, and the whole process. (The lawyers in the Harvard law clinic can only help businesses incorporate in MA or DE.)

Michael, have I captured this correctly?

I'm also waiting to hear back from my family lawyer friend Harry about his recommendations regarding the "where" question, and will keep you posted about that as well.

Sending many well wishes to you both!
Sarah

Dear Lauren,

Thank you very much for your email, we are delighted to work with you!

May we plan on speaking via conference call Friday September 20th at 11am EDT? And do you have a conference call line that we may use? Otherwise, we've used Google Voice in the past with Amanda and it has worked reasonably well.

Thank you again and looking forward to talking more soon,
Best regards,
Sarah

Hi Lauren,

Thank you so much for your email and I look forward to working together!

Currently, all three times work for me. I've cc'ed here Sarah Clark, another of the potential owners for Catalyze Ventures, to see her availability as well.

Thanks,

Michael

I would like to introduce myself as the Harvard Law School student assigned as the student advocate for your case. I will be working under Amanda Kool, a staff attorney here in our office. To further help with Catalyze Ventures we need to gain better awareness of your specifics needs and goals. I understand that you may not be able to meeting in person due to the fact that you may be located outside of Massachusetts. I understand that you may not be able to meet in person due to the fact that you are currently located out of state. Below are three potential meeting times that we are available for a conference call.

Conference Call Time 1 - Monday September 16th at 3pm.

Conference Call Time 2 - Friday September 20th at 11am

Please respond with which of these three times work best for you. If none of these times work feel free to suggest an alternative time via e-mail and we can make separate arrangements.

I look forward to meeting with you.

Hi team,

Sarah, I think you got that just right!

One thing I would add is that Amanda noted that there are many legal clinics across the US, so even if the decision was made to incorporate in CA, VA, or elsewhere - there would likely be clinics in those states with the authority to practice there.
