Let's say I have a service named "database", which of course, will be accessible through "database.service.consul". Is it possible to configure consul DNS so that queries to subdomain such as "dbname.database.service.consul"  will be redirected to "database.service.consul"?

Hey,

Take a look at the syntax for doing tag based DNS queries. You can always add the "db name" tag to the database service and then use the appropriate tag lookup.

Yes. This works well enough for my case. Thank you.
