I’d like to draw your attention to the message below from AAAI, encouraging AAAI members to participate in the INFORMS PBA program. I’m doing this because I worked with AAAI and INFORMS to establish this collaboration and want to encourage it. Also because I long ago formulated “Freuder’s Law”, which states that the number of volunteers is inversely proportional to the number included in the invitation. :-)
As our community is close to and overlaps with the OR community, I think this opportunity is especially well-suited for us. You can participate yourself and/or help spread the word to colleagues and students.
Also if you know of any nonprofits who might benefit from the PBA program, I’d encourage you to forward a pointer to the program to them.
Thanks,
Gene

Dear AAAI Members and Affiliates,
AAAI and the operations research society INFORMS are extending their partnership to encourage AAAI members to participate in the INFORMS Pro Bono Analytics (PBA) program. PBA brings volunteers and nonprofits together to carry out beneficial projects.
This one minute video introduces the PBA process. You can also view examples of prior projects.
AAAI members are encouraged to check out the PBA website and consider joining the PBA volunteer pool. This does not commit you to any project. It allows you to be notified of new opportunities, which you can choose to apply for or not.
An opportunity to do good.
Sincerely,
Meredith Ellison
AAAI Executive Director
