ACP Summer School 2026 will be hosted by Jilin University and held in Changchun, China, from August 24th to 28th, 2026.

The Association for Constraint Programming (ACP) Summer School series was initiated by the ACP to enhance and complement university teaching of Constraint Programming (CP) and disseminate a comprehensive body of CP knowledge that supports the recognition of CP as a mature and pertinent technology for industrial applications.

This new edition of the Summer School, titled “CP: Explanation, Verification, and Applications,” will feature nine international experts who will provide a general introduction to CP and its applications, in addition to specialized topics. Learning activities will encompass lectures and hands-on sessions. A hackathon/competition will also be organized to enable learners to further hone their skills. Two recent CP PhD graduates have been recruited as Teaching Assistants to guide the learners and enhance their learning experience.

PhD and Master’s students, recent PhD graduates, and industrial practitioners seeking to gain a solid understanding of CP and its current research directions are all welcome. Prior knowledge of CP is not assumed, but general problem-solving skills, proficiency in programming, and mathematical knowledge are beneficial.

This marks the first time that the ACP Summer School will be held in China, with the objective of further fostering and nurturing the CP community in the region. The plan is to recruit both international students and local students from leading universities in China. All learners and speakers will reside together for a week in a secluded and pleasant resort located in the outskirts of Changchun. Intensive daytime activities will be complemented by evening social gatherings and an excursion to a nearby film and television studio town. The Summer School is intended as a celebration of the conclusion of summer and international fellowship.

A limited number of scholarships are available to assist student participants with demonstrated financial need, particularly those who will be traveling long distances. Financial support is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
