Anyone interested in applying CP to this:

(I realize the competition itself is over.)

2. It would be great to come up with a similar initiative involving the CP and/or CPAIOR conferences and the Constraints journal. With a "real world" problem that might even provoke media attention and industry sponsorship. :-)

I realize we already have the MiniZinc Challenge. I realize there is the ROADEF/EURO Challenge. This could be the ACP Challenge. :-)

Any individuals, organizations, research labs, or companies interested in taking the lead on this?

Hello,

We did try to apply CP techniques to the IHTC competition but the results were not that good. We finished just outside of the top 10 IIRC. There is a special issue linked with the competition and I’ll certainly write a bit about CP in it ;-)

If someone wants to organize a CP-oriented competition, I’d love to contribute. I agree with Eugene that this would be nice. It’s also a nice way to attract a bunch of papers at the same time for a special issue about the competition.

Great, Guillaume.

I suspect that the Constraints journal would be interested in a special issue (Mark?) and the ACP in sponsoring (Gilles?), and CP 2026 interested in hosting. Perhaps the ACP or some companies would be interested in modest sponsorship? Opturion? IBM? Cosling? OptalCP? …

Of course, we need a challenge problem. Helmut? Mark? … 🙂

Anyone interested in working with Guillaume on this? Fame and fortune (or at least visibility in the CP community) await.
