A Full Professor position in Computer Science (CNU Section 27) is open this year at the University of Artois, with a research assignment at CRIL.

Research Profile

CRIL (UMR 8188) is a joint research laboratory of the CNRS and the University of Artois, specializing in Artificial Intelligence. The laboratory consists of approximately seventy members and is structured around three principal research axes: Knowledge, Constraints, and Data. In recent years, CRIL has actively pursued cross-disciplinary initiatives, with particular emphasis on Explainable Artificial Intelligence and AI methodologies in other scientific domains.

The appointed candidate is expected to undertake research aligned with one or more of these research axes. Particular consideration will be given to the quality and originality of the proposed research project, especially its capacity to complement ongoing initiatives and to foster novel avenues of inquiry. Applications from women are strongly encouraged.

A comprehensive description of the laboratory's research axes and initiatives is available here.

Teaching Profile

Teaching duties within the Jean Perrin Faculty of Science will primarily encompass courses in the Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, the Master's degree in Computer Science, and the forthcoming Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence (scheduled to start in 2026). The successful candidate may also be called upon to teach computer science to students enrolled in other scientific curricula. Active engagement in all these programs is expected, as well as meaningful contributions to the pedagogical team, with the prospect of assuming leadership of one of the programs.
