Building on the incredible (non-)success of Tuesday's CPParty, I am trying again on Friday:

I understand that it is difficult to find time to socialize at virtual conferences, when one still has commitments at home. And, of course, there is the time zone issue. (If anyone wants to hold a party at another time, feel free to advertise it; the room will be available.) But I am a bit mystified at the extreme level of non-engagement. :-) Come. Reconnect with old friends. Make new ones. Discuss your work. Mentor. Get mentored. Discuss the conference talks and tutorials. Congratulate award winners. Ask questions. Tell us about your upcoming workshops, your EU initiatives, your new car. Find collaborators. Discuss opportunities for academic and employment opportunities. Gripe about Covid.
