This year, we're revealing the MiniZinc Challenge results the fun way: we're turning every instance run into a live derby race, with each solver represented as a runner in the field. 100 instances, 100 races, unfolding live from the opening gun of CP all the way through to the MiniZinc Challenge prize ceremony.

How to play?
25 of those races come with a match bet: we name two solvers, and you call which of the two crosses the line first, regardless of how the rest of the field finishes. Head to derby.minizinc.dev and place your bets. The bets are purely for points and pride, no wallets involved. Betting closes an hour before each instance goes off, so no peeking once the gate's already up. Back the favourite for a safe bet, or back a long shot for bigger points. Less popular picks pay out more if they win.

Want to bet like you know what you're doing? The 2026 challenge models are now public — study the field before you place your money... er, points.

Why bother?
Bragging rights, obviously. But also: the top 3 punters on the leaderboard who are at CP/FLoC in person walk away with MiniZinc merch.

Place your bets, watch the races live, and let's find out who's really fastest out of the gate.

See you in Lisbon,

I really enjoyed the MiniZinc Derby — watching the rankings change during the contest was a lot of fun.
Thank you for organizing such an exciting event!

One small request:
The URL for Sabori CSP appears to be incorrect.
The correct URL is:
https://github.com/tofjw/sabori_csp

Could you please update it?
Thank you in advance!

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!

The link has been adjusted in the system, sorry for the confusion the wrong link might have caused. I will note that solver developers can also log in (with the same email as used in the challenge submission system) and adjust the details of their solver themselves.

Cheers,

Jip J. Dekker (he/him)
